Nicky's POV
Dawn, Ricky, Dicky, and I walk into the store and I sigh. They had been pestering me for a while about my crush on Y/N.
Y/N has known us since diapers. I used to not notice the way her hair smelled after she washed it or how her smile could light up my day but... Things change.
I turn around to face them "Guys enough! She doesn't like me, she's never going to like me. Can we just drop it?"
Y/N walks up from behind them and puts a hand on my shoulder "Hiya Cutie!" And continues to the cafe to get a smoothie.
I was about to melt right then and there.
"What was that about her not liking you?" Ricky asks, with a brow raised.
"That doesn't mean anything, that's just Y/N" I internally cringe when I hear my voice crack at the end.
Dawn turns to Ricky and Dicky "Oh, is that how Y/N talks to you two?"
They shake their heads
"Nope," Ricky says.
Dicky replys "I tried to call her babe once and she needed me in the-"
"Shut up! She's come back over here!" I whisper just as Y/N comes up beside me.
"What's going on?" She asks, sipping on her smoothie.
Ricky answers "We actually could use your advice on something Y/N" He sits down and motions for everyone to sit in the booth. Y/N sat right next to me.
"Shoot"
"Well one of us has a crush on somebody" Dawn informs and Y/N's eyes light up.
"Really, who?"
Dawn shook her head "Quad secret, sorry Y/N/N."
Her shoulders slump and she pouts. She looks so adorable...
"Anywho" Ricky continues "We've known this person for a long time so the person that has the crush doesn't want to wreck the friendship"
She furrows her brows "Go for it"
"Really?" I ask a little too loudly.
She nods "If this person is worth the time of day then even if they don't like you they'll still want to be friends with you. As hectic as you guys can be you are great friends. Anyone would be lucky to date you"
Dawn nods "Thank you Y/N. Ricky, Dicky, Mom, and Dad wanted me to restock the tennis balls. Gimme a hand"
They all slide out of the booth.
"Why can't Nicky help?" Dicky asks
Through clenched teeth, Dawn replys "It's a three-man job, Dicky"
He shrugs, and they walk off. I am internally screaming. Y/N turns to me.
"Okay seriously who is it" she asks tugging on my arm.
I gulp "You heard Dawn, Quad's secret"
She groans "Come on Nicky it's me! Your best friend in the entire world!"
She shakes my shoulders "Come on, come on, come on!!!"
I laugh at her childish antics
"God you're so annoying," I say "You're lucky I love you"
She stops shaking me and I'm confused. I go over everything I just said in my head and when I realize what I admitted I can feel myself stop breathing.
"You... Love me?" She asks. I can't bear to look at her face.
She looks at the table too "You love me."
Then she grabs my face and says more excitedly "You love me!"
I furrow my eyebrows at her "Why do you just keep saying that?"
She leans in "I love you" and kisses me.
I hear the rest of the Quad cheering from their hiding spot. I pull her closer to me and kiss her back. If nine-year-old me saw this... Well, he would honestly be disgusted. But now me is having a great time.
She pulls away "See? You should listen to me more often"
I chuckle "I'll keep that in mind"
