Sometimes....it hurts.

The next day Erin didn't even go to school, Hank told her she could stay out for a day and he had told the principal why.

"But why do I have to go to school and Erin doesn't!" Justin yelled as Erin came down the stairs.

"Because Justin we said you do!" Camille said handing Justin his bookbag.

"That's stupid mom! Its not fair!"

"The bus is waiting Justin go! Now!" Camille yelled and opened the door.

Erin just stayed on the stairs and said nothing. "Ughhh! You ruin everything Erin! I wish you didn't even live with us!" Justin said storming out the door and running on the bus.

Erin started to cry and Camille ran to her side. "Oh Erin it's okay, it will be fine okay?"

Erin ran to her room and stayed up there all day just laying on her bed. She wanted to talk to no one. She slept for most of the day, but when she woke up she looked at her clock and it read 4:00 which meant school was over. She sent a group text to the cheer squad and told them it was canceled. And  phone said she had 10 missed calls from Kelly and 5 from Rachel. But she never called them back.

"Hey Justin!" Jay yelled running up to him.

"Where is your sister?" He asked him.

"Ugghh! Erin is not my sister! She is just a girl my parents took in she's nobody!" Justin yelled.

"Okay but where is she?"

"I don't know my mom let her stay home but I don't know why I heard her crying before I left though. I'm going home now." Justin said running to the bus before Jay could say a word.

He knew why she was upset or at least he thought he knew. Kelly. He went into the locker room and found Kelly by his locker. Jay pushed him against the locker and wrapped his arm around his neck. "What did you do to her?"

"What are you talking about man?"

"Erin! You idiot!" He yelled.

"I didn't do anything just left her 10 messages, get off me." Jay listened taking his arm off Kelly.

"Then why did her brother just tell me she was crying all day?"

"I'd like to find that out myself, but I find out that you've been messing with her there's gonna be a problem." Kelly said laughing and walking away.

Erin sat on her bed playing her radio and eating chocolate ice cream. Then she heard a knock on her bedroom door. "Come in."

It was Rachel. "Hey Hank let me in, are you okay I was scared I mean you weren't at school and you canceled cheer practice and weren't answering my calls I was worried are you okay?"

Erin turned off her music and set the ice cream down. She went and sat by Rachel on the end of the bed. "Um I didn't go in today cause something happened." Erin said putting her head down.

"What? Erin you know you can say it?"

Erin nodded her head and looked at Rachel "My mom called Hank and Camille she told them that she was taking them to court and she was gonna make sure she'd win, Rachel I'm just their foster kid and I can't go back with her I just can't Rachel I can't." Erin said starting to cry.

"Hey hey hey it's okay it's okay." Rachel said hugging her best friend.

Erin cried in her arms and they ate ice cream together.

I knew I would always have Rachel and I knew I would be okay. Eventually.
