"Erin! Erin!" Kelly screamed as she kept walking.

"Can you wait just a second?" He yelled grabbing her arm.

"What Kelly?" She said turning towards him.

"Why did you break up with me yesterday."

She scoffed and rolled her eyes putting on a fake smile "This whole relationship was based on lies you should just wanted to kiss me and get in my pants! I love you are just words but you don't really want me or love me! You just wanted my body not my heart! Well guess what now you get neither of them!" Erin said walking into school.

Kelly sighed and looked at Jay who was staring at him. And he heard the whole conversation, "You better look away before you don't have any eyes to look at us." Kelly said walking into the school.

"Man she's single now! Free like a bird, time to make your move!" Adam said sitting next to Jay.

"Nah not yet, she hates me." Jay said going into the gym.

"Well she won't now that her and Kelly are done."

"Yeah we'll see." Jay said shooting the basketballs.

In 2nd period Erin sat in the middle of Rachel and Kelly unintentionally.

But Kelly had enough, he wrote Erin a note that said: What happened to "I love you too?"

Erin read the note and then sighed. She crumbled it up and looked back to the teacher, she didn't want to be treated the way that she was. She deserved better than Kelly and she finally realized it.

They went to cheer practice and  Erin tried to act as normal as possible but she couldn't. Not really. All she was thinking about was if she made a good or bad choice with Kelly.

"We are the Cheetahs and we fight fight fight!!" They all said in unison.

"Ugghhhh! Stop! Gabby your form is completely off! Sarah all wrong! Layla that smile looks fake! And Rachel perfect form except for the shoulders! Guys this isn't some joke and if you won't take it serious then leave cause I--"

"Ughh enough Erin! Stop being so demanding and think of others you lying liar! I mean sure your the captain so act like one." Rachel screamed putting her pom poms into Erins arms.

Erin had no idea where that came from, 2 hours ago they we're fine and now Rachel hated her. What was going on?

Rachel definetely said it loud enough for everyone to hear and she stormed out. Kelly never made eye contact with Erin, but Jay did. He looked at her and he could see it in her eyes. She started to cry but wiped the tears away fast. "Alright go to the locker room and take 5 girls." Erin said running outside.

"Alright boys, layups! Ignore the drama from cheer!" Coach screamed.

But Jay couldn't do anything but ignore it. All he could think about was what just happened and what Erin was feeling! But he didn't even know what had been going on with her. He just knew it was something no one really knew about. Just Rachel, her best friend.

Later in the day when both practices we're over the lights were turned off and everyone had left. Except for Jay. Coach told him to get a little more practice in and so he listened. Shooting hoops in the dark was something Jay found calming.

Then he heard the gym door slam shut. He looked over and saw Erin staring at him and she looked upset as she looked at him with her big, brown eyes. "I can come back later." She said turning around.

"No no it's fine, I was just wrapping up." But he really had just started.

"I just came to get the cheer stuff." She said going over to the cheer stuff by the bleachers.

"Cool." Jay said continuing to shoot.

She sat down and gathered all the stuff together as Jay kept shooting "Sometimes I like to come here in sit in the middle of the floor and think." She said walking over to the middle of the floor where the cheetah was. She sat down and he threw the ball and joined her.

"You mind?" He asked.

"No." She shook her head and smiled.

"What do you think about when you come here?"

"Life and crap that I have going on."

"Sometimes I wish I never even came here and I ask myself why did my mom make me move here and then I remember." He said staring at the hoop.

"I'm glad you did-- come here I mean.  I'm lucky to have a friend like you even though I have been a pretty bad one to you!" Erin said smiling softly with a quiet chuckle.

"It's okay Erin, I guess I forgive pretty easily." He laughed.

She smiled and paused and they stayed silent then she layed back on the floor and said "Ughh! I really want to get drunk right now!"

"Maybe that's not the best choice." He said laughing and laying down next to her.

Then Erin got a text on her phone "Oh it's Camille! I gotta go!" She said sitting up.

"Okay." Jay said standing up.

"Hey we should do this more often." She said smiling at him.

"What?"

"Hang out, be friends."

"Yeah that would be cool."

"Okay well I'll see you around then." She said starting to get up.

He held out his hand and she hestitated to grab it, but she did. He helped her up and then she grabbed the cheer stuff and took it to her car. He put the balls up and then went home.

He never ever could quit thinking about her. But he knew that they would never be anything more than friends.

What Erin and Jay didn't know was Kelly was in the gym the whole time, listening to their conversation.

I'm gonna make him wish he was dead.  Kelly thought as his smile deepened.
