Chapter 28: The Waltz Of Heart and Tears

James held onto the cane tightly as he stood in front of the Lodging House. Nervous and hesitation kicked in. He didn't want to be the one who visited June. She could run off, shout, ignore him. He would rather Lavender or Race go to speak to her.

He gave a quick look to Spot who had been quite stern with him all day. When Spot visited June they usual stayed in the quiet room and sometime joined their game. It was mostly this year he started to know Spot more.

"Em.eh you know you could be the one to go in.."

"I'm her brother not a friend"

(^ meaning he's like a best friend if that makes sense)

James nodded a bit as he was given the look from Spot. This was Alex's fault! James was going to rant more in his head when a girl came outside to meet the two boys.

"James nice seeing you again" Kylie smoked a cigarette. James gave a look towards her knowing she tricked them all at the orphanage. To be honest he didn't really know what to say so he left it all to Spot.

"Leave him Kylie. We got your note. Now let him see June" Spot sternly spoke after Kylie threw her cigarette towards the ground. "This way"

She turned towards the lodge and James slowly followed. He looked behind him to see what Spot was doing. Spot nodded knowing he would he the best he could to change June's mind.

"*cough* *cough*" June coughed handing the cigarette back to Blade. Laughs were heard from a couple of the guys. They all wanted to see the reaction from June if she smoked (as she never had before) and she was curious herself.

"Forgot to say don't breath it all in if you're not use to it" Blade laughed and smoked his cigarette. He past a lighter to Bird who took a smoke from his.

Zack, who sat next to June, decided to go back to her room as it was calmer and a lot quieter. Coughing up the stairs June followed Zack.

"I can't believe you guys tricked me" June coughed as they sat down on the bed. Zack laughed "We just forgot that's all. Now try another one"

"No way"

"Come on you know what to do now" He nudged her on. He took a lighter and light one for himself "It's easy" he puffed air out.

June hesitantly took the cigarette from his grasp and looked at it.
"One won't hurt ya"
The cigarette touched June's mouth and she then inhaled and exhaled a second after. A cough came along but it wasn't as bad as the first.

"There ya go" He smirked and inched closer "Isn't that better?"

"A bit.."

"Oh! For tonight I got a surprise for you" He put a forehead to hers. June laughed "What would that be?"

"Well-"

"Oi! Zack you gotta move" Kylie opened and closed the door behind her. Zack stood up and asked what was wrong this time. With a sigh Kylie replied "June's friend is here. So ya better move"

"Alright" Zack said and turned to June "See ya in a bit" with a wink he headed out of the room with Kylie.

So June was left to panic.

She didn't know what to do, how to act, or what to respond. June praised it wouldn't be awkward or weird. She hoped, who ever it was, they could have a civil conversation.

The door finally opened and June turned around. A bit if shock hit her as she saw the face of an old friend. James.

Standing in front of one another caused the room to grow silent, as they haven't seen each other in a while. James was the first time speak as he fiddled with June's cane.
