Theron awoke in a cold sweat and breathing heavily. He put his head in his hands and attempted to steady his erratic breathing. Were they speaking the truth? Were his friends under a spell and forced to betray him? He took his hands out of his head and looked over at his clock.
3:37 AM
The assassin sighed and stood up, deciding that he wouldn't be able to get much more sleep tonight. He silently opened his door and made his way to the kitchen, grabbing himself a can of Blue Cherry Coke and heading over to the sofa, sitting down to go over the events of his dream. He spent the morning thinking about what Annabeth, Piper, and Grover said. He wanted to trust them, he truly did. But how could he know for sure? For all he knew, they could be lying just so they could hunt him down and kill him. He would need to make them swear on the River Styx before he decided to do anything that could potentially endanger him or his new family. He heard the soft footsteps of a person approach him, and he looked up to be met with the concerned face of Stardust.
"You look like shit," she stated, sitting down on the chair next to the sofa.
Theron chuckled humorlessly, "Yeah, today hasn't been the best so far,"
"Demigod dreams?" Stardust asked, taking a bite out of a piece of toast she must have gotten from the kitchen.
"Yup," he replied, popping the 'p'.
"If you want to talk about it, we are always here for you," she stood up, placing a hand on Theron's shoulder.
"Thanks," the assassin smiled.
"Besides, we get to go see the Hero's Day celebration today, it will be a great way to keep your mind off of things," Theron smiled at Stardust's attempts to console him, but he thought the party would just make his dream harder to forget.
"Thanks, Star. What time is it?" he asked, standing up from his spot on the sofa.
"A little past six, I woke up ten minutes ago," she shrugged.
The assassin smirked, "Up for an early morning spar?"
The huntress smirked back, "You are so on,"
The two ran out of the Chaos cabin, after pulling up the hoods on their cloaks, and towards the arena, the camp was silent, only the sounds of nature disrupting the sounds of silence. They entered the arena to find the Seven, Reyna, Nico, Thalia, Grover, Estelle, Julia and a few other Immortal Campers. Was the arena ever empty? They were all sparing or watching each other spar, sometimes pointing out tips to the others. Theron took a deep breath but continued walking into the arena.
The sounds of fighting faded as the group of demigods watched as the two Commanders entered the fighting area. Most of them glared at Theron but otherwise stayed out of their way. The two Commanders made their way to the opposite side of the arena, where they would hopefully have some privacy. Stardust grabbed her pair of hunting knives and got into a stance that could be easily defensive or offensive. Theron summoned Vortex, his dagger, Serene, was still missing, unable to be located or summoned. He too got into a stance that allowed both aggressive and protective movements. Neither one of them needed a signal, they charged at the same time. Stardust using her small, lithe body to her advantage, moving at the grace only seen by the Hunters of Artemis. Theron, however, had a larger, taller form, this would have been a problem for many others if not for the fact that he spent centuries as an assassin, moving silently in the shadows. The two were pretty evenly matched, Stardust's skill with a hunting knife and Theron's outstanding ability with a sword caused most of their duels to last ages, often having to stop as the one or the other drops from exhaustion. Both of the Commanders were equally as stubborn, not giving up unless they drop from fatigue. Neither Commander knew how much time had passed when they laid down their swords, both gasping for oxygen to fill their lungs.
