Hermione cried for hours, until the tears were not even pouring, she just sat whining, moaning in pain. Her best friend was dead. Stone cold dead. He lay on his bed, his covers over him, as if he was just asleep. That's why Harry insisted he was put there. Harry had seen death on his doorstep, felt death thrusted upon his shoulders, he had family, friends who were dead, but Harry had never felt such pain and terror like this. Hermione, at least, was able to make a sound, speak, even if it was a small 'yes' or 'no' but Harry, he just stood, frozen at the end of his bed, watching his friend, as if he were to wake up any second.
He prayed he was just sleeping, he even prayed that he had died in Ron's place. This could just be like his deathly encounter with Lord Voldermort in the Forbidden Forrest, only he wasn't dreaming of seeing the dying body of The Dark Lord, he was seeing his dead best friend- his brother.
Hermione blinked a few times, quickly, the last tears dropping on her cheeks. She sniffed, wiping her nose with the sleeve of Draco's blazer. She stood up from the windowsill and stumbled to her room, locking the door straight behind her. She threw off the blazer, which landed on the cold floor. Hermione walked into her bathroom ensuite, and with a flick of her wand, turned on the shower. She pulled over the jumper that used to fit her frame, perfectly, was now stretched and bloodied. She tugged off her jeans, equally as red, but with matching rips, that lead onto her own skin. After unhooking her bra, slipping off her briefs and untying her hair, she jumped into the shower. Her skin prickled with goosepumps as the steaming hot water hit her pale flesh. She sighed in relief as the blood soaked away, the water freshing her wounds, how she wish they would heal in a second.
'I know a spell' Hermione jumped in the air as she heard a silky voice come from outside the shower 'to help with those wounds of yours'. Hermione relaxed, slightly 'Draco...no more magic, please, that is how I got these in the first place'.
Draco sighed and nodded, although Hermione couldn't see him she was right to imagine that is what he would do. He ran his hand through his hair, his back leaning agaisnt the glass of the shower. He stared at the mirror opposite him, observing his own blodied body. He smothed his stubbly beard, closing his eyes, tearing away from the horrible image of himself.
'How long?' Hermione said, barely a whipser 'How long until they return?'
'To slit all our throats-'
Hermione winced at his words.
'They will probably return in a few weeks, at the most a month'
'A month?' Hermione was suprised 'I thought they would attack us while we are weak-'
'They are Death Eaters, they will want to be remembered in the most powerful way they can, knocking you down while you're weak, shows a larger sign of weakness in them than even achieving-'
He paused as the shower's water came to a hault. He watched Hermione tiptoe out of the shower, her left arm covering her boobs while her right hand reached for her towel. He smirked 'I've seen it all before, no need to hide it-'. Hermione gave him a look, a look that could kill. She loved Draco, more than the world knew, but he, as much as he tried to hide it, wasn't so keen on Ron or Harry, or any of Hemione's friends to that matter, but even when he watched a man die, the man who loved his girlfriend, who died for Harry and Hermione, Draco just wasn't as affected as Hemrione or Harry. Draco shook his head 'He was a good man' He said, honestly and rightly 'He died for you and Harry, and I appreciate that, but Hermione, this has only stirred the pot, they won't stop until Harry' head is on a stick and you will be soon after-'
'Stop!' Hermione screamed. There was a silence betwen them, that hung over like a thick fog. She shook her head, grabbed her wand and headed for the door, slamming it behind her. She was alone loong enough to change into clean clothes. He soon appeared and Hermione didn't or wouldn't listen to him, his words were not wanted. He reached for her, but she pulled away, ylling and screaming. 'Hermione will you stop!' Draco yelled 'I love you and I hate seeing you....like...this-!'
'Stupefy!' Hermione screamed as Harry burst threw the door, his arms wrapping around Hermion'es wait and pulling her away from Draco. He pulled her sofast, that Draco's fingers, tha were so tightly gripped around Hermione's arms, left trails as his fingers pulled through her skin. Hermione felt the tears come back, she had never felt such hurt from Draco.
Harry pointed his wand to Draco's neck, his chin turned up at him as he looked upon him with disgust. 'Hermione!' He yelled 'Pack a bag, now!'
'W-what why?'
'Just do it!'
Hermione ran around the room, grabbing her enlargment bag and puointing her wand to her draws 'Accio...'
Harry's arm didn't lower, he just kept it straight at Draco, his jaw open, stumbling on what to say.
Hermione sighed and swallowed the lump in her throat 'H-harry where are we going-'
'You are going to Australia, visit your family, stay there, live there' He said 'I...I'm going kill everyone that threatened my friends...my family...I am going to kill every sun of a bitch that-'
'Harry!' Hermione said, running to him, standing infront of his wand 'You are not a murderer, you are not a-'
'Hermione' Draco whispered, but she put her hand to him to shh, but he sighed 'Harry, Ron and I we made an agreement...to keep you safe....to keep you alive' He sighed and Harry lowered his wand 'We said that we would do anything to keep you safe, so we made the unbreakble vow, and we...we...we lied and tore people apart to make sure that we would end up dead instead of you-'
Hermione covered her mouth with her hand.
Harry shook his head 'You go to Australia, you be happy-'
Draco sighed 'You meet a boy'
'You settle down, you live a life that no one would danger, you would be happy to procced in a free being-'
'But...no!' Hermione screamed 'I'm not going anywhere!'
'You have no choice' Harry said. He sighed and nodded to Draco and together they grabed Hermione's hand, apparating. She screamed as they threw her down, before taking out their wands, sighing 'This is the end of the road, Hermione'. Harry knelt down beside her 'You...you are going to be OK' He hugged her tightly 'What are you going to do, Harry? I can't leave you-'
'I'm going to use a weapon that is unspeakable, only I, Snape and Dumbledoor know what is it..so I know you hate me...but this will probably be the last time you see me if this desn't go to plan-'
'Harry!' Hermione screamed, she couldn't lose him, too. Draco watched on as Hermione pleaded with Harry, begging him to stay 'I'll do it! Whatever it is! I will die for you! All of you!'. Harry shook his head kissed her head 'Goodluck'. He disapperated in her arms. She screamed and looked up to Draco 'He is gone! This is your fault and I hate you! I hate you!-'
Draco shook his head and grabbed Hermione, suddenly all the hate disappeared in Hermione's mind as Draco's thin lips hit Hermione. She kissed him back, hard, but softly, if that was even possible. He had never felt so much passion from her, but he cherished it, their last momments together. He had made a vow to keep her safe, and by God he was going to stick to it.
He pulled away, tearing their lips apart. He shook his head and stepped back 'I love you, Miss Hermione Granger' and then in a flash he was gone. Just like before, he had left her on her own.
