𝐈 posted the picture and watched as the likes and comments rolled in. I clicked off Instagram and shut my phone off. It didn't take long for my phone to start blowing up with notifications from every social media app. I grabbed the strings of my hoodie tightening them up around my neck as I pushed my hat down on my head.
Leaning back with one arm propped up behind my head I sighed. "Yep, turning this off." I said to myself as I powered my phone off completely.
I just didn't wanna be bothered today. Other than my family, I didn't feel like being around anyone else or talking to anyone else to be honest.
October 1st, the day a king was born! Yep that's right, it's my 25th birthday today. I felt happy I guess I knew thank god for blessing me with another year of life. Plus I just sort of got my family back, so that's an upside to things.
But even with all the good things happening to me in my life, it still feels like something's missing..
"Happy birthday brother!" I heard followed by small footsteps.
"Look at what I made for you!" Brasen cheesed hard as she crawled up on the bed with me. "See! That's you, that's mommy and that's me right there in da middle!"
It was honestly pretty well drawn for a six year old. The sun had a smile and the clouds were pink, and the stick figures were out of this world but I loved it. It even had a note on the back reading:
YoU are the bestest big bubba in the world! Happy birthday I love you❤️
It was so cute because it was in her little hand writing making it even more special to me.
"Look what else brother!" I looked up from the card to see her hold up a bracelet that she had made. It was brown and it had all kids of colorful beads on it. My name spelled out + hers.
She was sitting on her knees in front of me waiting patently for me to say something. The smile on her face was adorable, honestly I wish you guys could see how adorable this kid is. I could tell how proud she was of her work and that made me happy.
"Aww this is so amazing, thank you Brasen I love everything about it." I smiled pulled her into a great big hug. She had her little arms wrapped tightly around my neck as I shook us back and forth.
I slid the bracelet on my wrist making Brasen smile even harder.
"Yes, I knew that you would! Now get up, mommy made food!" She shouted grabbing my hand and I got up from the bed lifting her up with me.
