I was woken up by a loud crash noise. What the hell? I get up from the bed and walk into the lounge to see my parents standing in the middle of a chaos. "What happened?" I wondered.
"We were just trying to find the camera." My dad answered.
"What? From China?" I continued. They both laughed. "We found it though. Now get dressed we're going sightseeing." My mom said.
I let out a long sigh. After digging my bag for awhile I take out my black skinny jeans, a black tank top and my plaid from yesterday. I style my hair a bit so I wouldn't look so bad.
"Jamie!" My dad yelled from the other room.
"Yeah, yeah." I yelled back as I walked out of the room.
"How about we go see the Brandenburg Gate and then Victory Colum and maybe the Berlin Wall after those..." Mom was wondering.
"Sounds great, what do you think Jamie?"
"Sure, whatever." I said, not caring a bit.
Berlin was so full of people, many tourists everywhere and my parents being the stereotypical ones too. I took out my phone and put on some music to kill the time. Sure Berlin is pretty but I don't want to waste all the time sightseeing. I miss home already.
Before heading down to the Berlin Wall I wanted to stop by and get some Starbucks. I ordered the usual and as I was waiting for my drink I saw this guy eyeing me. He looked about my age, he had dirty blond hair and clothes like he could have been a member of the 1975.
I looked around to see if there was someone else he could have been eyeing but it didn't seem like it.
I felt kinda uncomfortable, I just wanted my drink and leave. Why was that guy eyeing me? Is my shirt dirty or something else? I wondered. I shook the guy out of my mind and went to find my parents.
"You alright Jamie?" My mom questioned. "Yeah." I answered briefly.
The Berlin Wall was probably my favorite thing in Germany so far. It was pretty cool to be honest.
"How about we get some lunch?" My dad asked from my mom and I. We both nodded.
My dad found this restaurant which was close. The waiter came shortly after we arrived to our table.
"Hallo! What can I get you?" He's thick German accent made me look up from the menu. I couldn't believe it. It was the same guy from Starbucks. He gave me this odd grin.
"Oh hello." My dad said.
"Ah Americans I see... Welcome to Germany." The boy said politely.
"Thank you and we'd take two stakes of the day and... Jamie?" Everyone's head's turned to me. If I was feeling uncomfortable before, now I wanted to fall off the face of the earth.
"I- Um... I'll take the... the chicken." I stuttered. Why am I so awkward? Ugh.
"Ah great choice sir, I'll be with your orders in no time." He said in his thick accent and left. Sir? What am I, 50?
"What a nice young man, why can't you be more like him Jamie?" My mom started. I rolled my eyes. Here we go again.
"I agree with your mother, where are your manners?" My dad continued. I stared them eyes and mouth wide open.
"What be like him? Like a creepy guy?" I said.
"What do you mean?" They asked.
"When I was-" But I was cut off by the guy coming back with our food. Another great timing.
"Bitteschön (you're welcome), enjoy the food." He said smiling, "And if you need anything else just ask." And with that he left.
The boy came back to pick up our plates and asked if we wanted desert. I said no but my parents wanted almost everything from the list but ended up taking the strawberry cake. Few moments later he came back with my parents order and a piece of chocolate cake for me. Why?
"Hey I didn't order anything..." I trailed off trying to give the piece of cake back.
"Take it. It's on me. Genießen." (Enjoy.)
He was a strange one...
Days went by, we did all these touristy things and etc. I was sitting in the lounge browsing thru Tumblr when my dad walked in and said,
"Jamie, me and your mother are going on a late dinner. You can stay here or go out as long as you won't go too far and get lost. Okay buddy?" I just nodded without breaking my sight from my laptop's screen.
"But son, seriously get out of this hotel room before you mold there." He said grinning. I just nodded again in response.
I had been feeling a little weird for the past few days. Maybe a walk would help to get my mind off of things, I thought.
It was a little chilly outside and I was only wearing a tank top. I should have taken a hoodie or even a plaid with me but no cause I'm so dumb.
I wondered around the streets near the hotel. I somehow ended up by the river. I stopped and leaned against the railing between the water and the ground. The view was actually quite the pretty and the weather wasn't bad at all if you didn't count the fact that it was getting more and more cold by every minute.
I heard loud laughing and talking from the other side of the river. There was a group of people. They all seemed close which made me miss my friends back home, even thought I haven't been away for long.
One of their figures looked slightly familiar and I swear the person was staring right at me. I could feel it and it gave me chills. The person left the group and started to run to the bridge which I was almost next to on the other side. As the person run closer and closer I could see who it was. Shit, not again.
