"He called you dumb?" Carrie repeated. Her eyes were wide as she pinned down the fabrics of her skirt."Well, Steve didn't just come out and say it, " You continued to cut some fabric.
"Oh, remind me what he did say again. I can't keep my thinking straight, " she gave you a sympathetic look.
"Well, it started with me at the DX..."
You gazed at him as he wrote swiftly across his journal. His face scrunched up, and sweat glistened off his forehead. Quickly he took a few measurements of a car he was working on and went back to scribbling in his journal.
"You ready doll?" you gazed up at Steve. His eyebrow was cocked, and he stuffed his journal into his back pocket. You nodded, and he smiled, helping you off of the counter.
"I thought we could go to the Dairy Queen way out in the country, " you giggled. He only chuckled and opened the car door for you,
"Well, as long as you have me home by 9:00 I'm all yours,"
You smiled. Steve's eyes lit up. It was 3:30 and Steve was speeding down the outskirts of Tulsa singing songs as he held your hand.At the Dairy Queen, you and Steve talked about meaningless things. Laughing and smiling at any moment.

It took you a while since his handwriting was so messy. But you realized little doodles he had placed around each page. Small drawings and words in beautiful shading. They were mostly about you.
