You were quiet, calm and sensitive and sweet. You felt things more than you thought about things, like your kid brother Ponyboy. You always felt as if you were supposed to be Pony's twin, not Sodapop's, but it works out. You sat on the couch, your feet on top of Two-bit's back as he watched Tv. Suddenly, someone stormed through the door, you looked up from your sketchbook. You were drawing the complicated swirls of the gang's hair, now you were on Two-bits.

Anger ran through Dallas as he stood, anytime somebody felt bad you always needed to make them feel better. You should have known Dallas isn't just anyone.

"What's wrong Dally?" Steve asked, his accent laced into his words. Dallas huffed, you watched from the couch.

"Silvia two timed me again," he groaned, You and Keith glanced at each other, then back up at Dallas.

"I'm real sorry about that man," You could hear Darry from the kitchen, in the corner of your eye you could see Two-bit's gaze shift. You knew it was dangerous to stare at Dallas, but he was in a dangerous mood. You studied him, the way his jaw clenched as well as his fist. You began to draw an outline of his face and his striking features above the drawing you wrote a note

Note to self: Don't hate Dallas Winston, he's only human.

You looked back up his eyes met yours, he furrowed his eyebrows,

"You got something to say?!" his voice, raised. You were taken back, he knew how much yelling messed you up, you swallowed hard.

"Yes, I do actually," you stated, proudly. Everyone's head's snapped towards you, he chuckled and raised his eyebrows as he bit his lip.

"Oh, yeah. Huh? Then shoot," he said, sharply. You sat up straight,

"Maybe you should take interest in other girls. Maybe stop setting yourself up for heartbreak," he was shocked, Darry peaked his head out the door, his eyes worried.

"She didn't mean it like that Dal," he said, giving you a stone hard look. You rolled your tongue over your teeth, the memory of Dallas snapping at you replying in your mind.

"Oh, yes I did," You said, with no sass. Just simply saying it, you looked back down at your sketchbook finishing the picture of Dallas. Suddenly you felt someone jerk your chin up, your breathing hitched. Dally looked at you his eyes dark. Two-bit stood up,

"C'mon Dal, look at what you're doing. It's Y/n.....Dal?" his eyes stared into your scared ones.

"What kind of girls are we talking about Y/n?" he questioned, You put your feet up as your knees met your chest creating a barrier between you and him, "Answer Y/n," he said sharply, You looked over Darry was in the kitchen with your other brothers they wouldn't notice Dally anytime soon, only Two-bit and Steve watched as Johnny was in the bathroom. Dallas removed his hand, but still in your face.

"I-" he cut you off,

"You shouldn't be telling me to look for nice girls, who don't set me up. I heard about what the fellas say about ya," he said, You face fell.

"Rumors Dal, people love to spread them," You said sharply, he raised an eyebrow.

"Well, rumors aren't the only thing your spreading," he snapped, Your face fell. You brought you hand back and slapped him cold and hard across the face; he fell back. You quickly got up and ran to your room tears dropping.

"Y/n!? C'mon babydoll come out!" You could hear Two-bit and Steve calling out for you, as well as your brothers, but you were already out the window.

You walked to the front of the house with the intention of going to the lot. Dallas walked out of the house too avoiding the boys beating. You met eyes, you saw your hand mark across the face. You hated that you hurt him, more tears ran down your face as you turned around. You felt him walking in back of you not saying anything, you whipped around.

"What do you want?" You asked, your voiced cracked. He was shocked that you even turned around.

"Why are you cryin'? You hit me!" he shouted, You hated how loud his voice was.

"Because!...You-I...I didn't want to hit you, but you made me! Because of what you said," You snapped, there you both were in the middle of the street shouting at each other.

"Glory, how soft are you? Crying because you hit someone, shake it off for Goodness sakes." he groaned,  your emotions getting the best of you started to cry again. "Stop it!" he screamed, anger bubbled up inside of you.

"Shut the hell up Winston!" Your voice boomed throughout the whole entire neighborhood the boys ran out of the house. You had never, ever yelled at anyone like that before. he was pale and still as stone. You quickly ran out of the neighboorhood.

You're breath became shallow until you stopped reaching a hill where you and Ponyboy would watch the sunset. You sat and waited for the sun to set. After about an hour, it did and he did too.

"Lil' Curtis said I would find ya here," You looked back over to Dallas, your gazed shifted away from him back to the sunset. You weren't mad anymore.

You felt him sit next to you, he sighed looking at the sun. You looked over at him, his skin was almost golden as his eyes glowed. You couldn't help, but smile you wished you could draw him, you wished you had your book- Your book!? That was a private book with everything you thought about and you don't know where it was. You stood up quickly, Dallas looked up at you, his grip tight on a book... your book.

"My book! Thank God," You went for it, but he pulled it away. You frowned your heart racing, "Give it back! Give it-"

"I saw what you wrote about me!" He shouted over you, you took your book and plopped back down onto the grass.

"You did?" You asked, your cheeks a light pink, he smiled a bit.

"Y-Yeah...Why did you uh write the little thing on the top?" he questioned lightly taking the book from your hands and opening to the page with him on it. he pointed to the note, you shrugged.

"I don't know. I find myself getting mad at ya a lot. You pick fights, mess with girls and you're mad at everyone. I can't get mad at you though, I know you've been through a lot. I just...I just need to remember that," You looked over to the now dark sky, he was silent studying your words.

"You cold?" he asked, you shrugged crossing your arms. You felt him come close to you until finally his arm wrapped around you as he held you close. "Sorry doll," he mumbled, as he rested his chin on your head. You couldn't believe it! Dallas Winston was hugging you, he took a deep breath. "I really am," You nodded, hugging him back. You giggled,

"See, Dallas Winston isn't all bad," You pulled away, and kissed his cheek lightly. He grinned, his eyes lit up.

"Only for you doll, only for you," his voice trailed off as his lips met yours.
