You liked Johnny, you really did.  You hung out with him all the time, sometimes you were sure he liked you. He had too, all you did was drop hints at times he would come so close to asking you out but wouldn't so you deiced to give him one more chance.

"Johnathan?" you sat on the couch next to him, he loved it when you called him by his full name. He looked up his big brown eyes now on you.  "Are you busy this weekend?" you questioned he shook his head.

"No, why?" you admired him for a sec. You really liked him,... you sat up and faced him.

"I was hoping that maybe we could do something, any ideas...just the two of us ?" you asked, he had to get the point.

"Like hang out?" he questioned, you knew Johnny was a bit slow with things so you pushed harder.

"Well, sort of, but more...well, more." you tried to explained he raised his eyebrows his bangs revealing his forehead.

"We could go to the nightly double," he stated, you sighed

"No...ugh, Johnny what about something more exciting?" You asked he shugged

"The nightly double is exciting,"

"We always do that Johnny," you gave up, there was no hope he didn't like you "you know what? It's okay, I just remembered I uh I'm busy... Goodbye Johnny."  you got up and walked out waving bye to the boys.

Johnny's POV

She walked out, of course, I knew what she was trying to do. I just couldn't bring myself to ask her.

"Johnny, how stupid can you get?" Dally questioned leaning against the doorway to the hall. I looked down and played with my fingers, he sat next to me. "Look, I know you're my bud and all, but that was a really great girl trying to get ya to ask her out! The worst part is, you knew it!" I nodded looking down.

"Yeah, Johnny I thought you took a liking to Y/n?" Two-bit asked finishing his beer, I sighed. I did feel bad, I really do like her I just couldn't see myself asking her out.

"I do! I really do, she's real sweet and she don't curse much like other girls. She cares for everyone...she'd never let ya down." my voice trailed off just thinking of her.

"We know that Johnny, hell, we love that about her! She likes you though, shoot if she ever took a liking in one of us we'd be all over her in a minute, but she likes you Johnny, so...go for it. This Saturday ask her," Sodapop said, plopping down on the couch. I nodded, sitting up straight.

"Yeah, Okay I'll ask her," I said, but I still couldn't even dream building up the courage.

Saturday

your pov

I've been friendzoning this boy in my history class ever since I thought I had a chance with Johnny, I know I shouldn't have. His name was Dennis he was a real doll, I decided to phone him and ask him if he wanted to hang out today, he said yes almost immediately. I finished my hair and heard the doorbell ring, I took my sweet time walking to the door preparing myself for the night ahead. I opened the door.

"Johnny?" he stood with a rose his hand, his clothes more formal than usual. he looked up and you his big brown eyes nervous and sweet.

"Hiya, this is for you." he held up the rose, "Dallas let me borrow his car-"

"Johnny, what are you doing?" I questioned his face fell a bit at my tone.

"I'm taking you out, just the two of us." he smiled, I looked down and took my head into my hands

"No, Johnny no don't do this," I groaned, he looked concerned

"D-do what?"

"Y/n?" his head snapped back, Denny stood awkwardly holding a bouquet of roses. Johnny looked down at his own rose and frowned a bit,

"Denny, hey." you said, he walked over to me handing me the bouquet giving me a kiss on the cheek.  You mentally cringed at the fact Johnny was watching.

"You look nice tonight," he said I couldn't help, but blush. He slipped his arm around me and faced Johnny. "Who's your friend?" Johnny looked up at the both of us, his big brown eyes now sad, Nobody said anything, Johnny walked over to me and handed me his one rose.

"You look gorgeous," he stopped and looked and Denny, "Anytime and all the time," then he walked off shoving his fists into his pockets. I looked down, the one rose seemed to have more meaning than the other 12. The rest of the night was okay, we went to the dingo it didn't seem right between Dennis and I, but I just couldn't stop thinking of Johnathan Cade. I knew he would be at the Curtis household...so I went there. I knocked on the door, waiting anxiously for an answer. Darry opened it he looked at me as I fidgeted with my fingers I could tell he know I was nervous.

"Hi, Darry is-"

"his in Pony's room," is all he said a huge smile on his face he opened the door wider letting me through.

"Thanks, Dare-Bear," I walked through the house Sodapop was asleep on the couch and I could hear Pony showering, that meant Johnny was all alone in the room, so I knocked. Johnny opened it his shirt was half tucked in and his hair was everywhere,

"Y/n," his eyes went wide, he was shocked. At that moment I couldn't help but fall in love with him even more.

"Johnathan," I stepped forward and connected my lips to his, he nearly fell back. He gripped my hips tightly, giving into the kiss. I let go of the collar of his shirt and tangled my hands in his hair.  I finally pulled away catching my breathe.

¨I-I love you,¨ he said, his cheeks a bright pink. I giggled, he smiled running his fingers over my cheeks. he pecked my lips then hugged me tightly.

¨Took ya long enough.¨
