Warning, Super long, doesn't make sense and they don't really kiss in the end so there's that. I edited this so much I can't read it again. ENJOY!
"Shut your trap, Curtis!" You yelled, tears threatening to leave your eyes, you used every muscle in your body to make sure you didn't cry. He looked down his face flushed, he got to carried away from himself. "Know your place," You whispered, you would have said it with as much sass as before, but you couldn't. You walked away, leaving him in the middle of class with everyone staring at him. You walked straight out of school, you let a few tears shed not all. Suddenly, you looked up at a tan figure you braced yourself for impact as you stepped on the person's shoe. You didn't fall you felt someone hold you up gingerly. Johnny Cade.
"Y/n, hey!" he threw his cancer stick down and stepped on it, I smiled a bit. Nothing could get passed, Johnny. "Wha- What happened?" he asked, his voice was soft and a bit nervous, he didn't want to upset you. You looked away and bit your lip, you couldn't help it. You were only human. Tears flew down your cheeks as you made your way into Johnny's arms, he almost didn't know what to do, he hadn't been hugged in a very, very long time. You felt his arms gently move around your waist. You buried your face in his neck as you cried. Johnny held you tightly, whispering to you the kindest things. "Hey, hey...Whatever it is, you'll be fine." he tried to comfort you.
"Really Johnny? How do you think I'm supposed to go back to class next year now that everyone knows I suck ass!?" he held your shoulders, trying to calm you. He moved his bangs away from his face then looked very serious,
"What do you mean?" he asked, quietly. "Did someone embarrass you?" he asked, you nodded looking down at your feet, you felt Johnny tense up. "How? You're the smartest gal I know, Golly Y/n you tutor me," he stated, You shook your head.
"Not in math, I might as well not even go back," You spat, You looked up at him. He frowned he hated seeing you like this,
"Who?" he asked, you shrugged you didn't want him mad at his best friend. "Who Y/n?" he said his voice more serious.
"Ponyboy Curtis," You mumbled, Johnny rolled his tongue over his teeth then he nodded.
¨What did he say?¨ he mumbled, you shrugged and looked down.
¨We were in class, Ponyboy asked me what I got on my report card and I was struggling so I...I was embarrassed to show him. I told him that I didn't get a grade or something I don't even remember and he didn't believe me so he took my paper and laughed...I got an 'F'. The worst part is...he yelled it out in front of the whole class. The whole class Johnny! Hell, it was pure hell.¨ You stated as he handed you his weed.
¨I'm real sorry about that, it's not usual for him to do such a thing," he stated, chewing the inside on his lip.
"Don't worry Johnny Cade, I'm fine," you assured him, he looked down and shook his head.
"No, you're not," he said sharply.
"Yes, I am!" You snapped back, he frowned he looked almost angry.
"Then why when you ran out here you was crying?" he asked, the sass in his tone seeping through his words, you said nothing. "Yeah, that's what I thought," with that, he turned back around towards the school. You followed quickly as you made our way through socs and greasers. You didn't ask any questions lord you couldn't have even if you tried, the sounds of cheering because school was over for the year were too loud. That's when you spotted him, Pony looked stood tall his books in his hand as the other rubbed the back of his neck. He stood on the top of the stairs looking over the crowd, slowly his eyes shifted to you. It felt like everything froze, he began to walk down the stairs a light jog in his step was noticeable as he walked towards you. His eyes were set on you as he weaved through the people suddenly, he stopped he looked down to see what was preventing him from coming closer, you looked too. It was Johnny, he held his hand on Pony's chest.
"Johnny? What are you doing here?" he asked, Johnny kept a straight face. Ponyboy glanced at you then at Johnny, his face fell. "Oh, you heard what happened?" his gazed stayed low as he rubbed the back of his neck, something he did often. Then he looked back up at you again, he moved around Johnny walking towards you. As he was about to talk some beat him to it.
"Hey Y/n!" You looked over at a group of boys from your math class. "So, does your F in math stand for 'Fantastic'?" One boy shouted you looked down. Your cheeks burning up.
"Hey! Stop that leave her alone!" Pony shouted, the boys backed off laughing amongst themselves. "I'm sorry about them," he said, you rolled your tongue over your teeth.
"No, Ponyboy you're not." he looked confused as the words left your mouth. "because nothing would have happened if you were to say nothing," You said, then walked off. You weren't mad anymore you were mostly sad and embarrassed, that night you sat down at the lot, sucking on a lollipop. You felt a presence next to you, you could tell who it was by the cologne they had noticeably just put on and the faint smell of cigarettes.
"I...I'm real sorry Y/n," You heard Ponyboy say. You shrugged and looked away throwing your lollipop stick on thr ground, your silence killing him "Y/n...don't do this, please. I feel real stupid, I know I...I probably made you feel stupid too, but please you have to hear me out," he begged, you turned towards him, a shocked little smile played on his lips, he was happy you at least would look him in the eye,"I liked you from the start. You always found a way to make people laugh. You keep to yourself at times, which made me wonder about you more than I think I should have. You daydream a lot, I sat in back of you for a whole year and all you did was daydream with a loving look in your eyes. I drew you a couple of times...daydreaming, I'm not sure about what you daydream about, but my best guess is a fictional character since none of the boys in the real world are good enough for ya," he stayed silent for a bit, looking down at his legs. "and...and the reason I did what I did was stupid. The truth is that you intimidate me, I used to think I had everyone figured out, all my friends and family all the socs and greasers. I realized I didn't once I met you, you're smarter than me. The way you see people and the way you think is a million times better then what I could do, I don't know maybe I got jealous," his voice became a little raspy as he looked up at you, his eyes glossy. The wind blowing through his now lightly greased hair. "When I noticed you were struggling in math, I wanted to help I really did. I know this sounds terrible, but I stopped myself. This whole year you showed you were smarter than me without even trying! Nobody has ever done that to me before and I found my chance to prove I was smart too and that I could compare to you, I can't...I can't compare to you because even though I thought I could move on with life after what I did. I couldn't because Y/n Y/l/n you drive me insane, in the best possible way. And I would really appreciate if you were to say something right about now," he stated, chuckling. You smiled at his words, grabbing his hand and resting his on his knee. Ponyboy smiled his cheeks heating up,
"...I forgive you, Ponyboy. I hope I see a lot more of you this summer," You stated, rubbing your fingers over his knuckles, also you're wearing too much cologne." You giggled, he grinned looking down at himself.
"I tried to impress you," he stated, you laughed and kissed his hand, You looked up at him, he had on a little adorable grin. That's when it hit you, Ponyboy Curtis drove you insane too...in the best possible way.
