Two-bit's Pov

It had just started to rain when the last bell rang. It wasn't a lot but, slowly it began to get worse. Darry was 17 so that meant he'd be driving Soda, Steve and I home. Though, we needed to pick up Ponyboy first from grade school. I'd be gone by then my house was on the way.

We all nearly ran to the car racing, as We piled in Darry spoke,

"We ain't taking your sister Steve?" Darry called as he looked at him through the mirror. Now, I know Steve wouldn't like me talking about his sister or anything but, man she was real nice. I liked her just fine; we're in the same grade I'm older than her by a year though, me being 16. She had the nicest smile, and she looked real nice in blue,

"She's always talking about how the rain is so relaxing she can walk herself home," Steve snapped. I punched his shoulder lightly,

"Shoot if it were my sister I'd at least walk her home," I spoke. Steve looked down almost guilty; sometimes he'd embarrassed of Avalon. I don't know why she was mighty cute; it might just be that she had more brains than Steve.

"Forget it," Darry started the car and began to drive. We began to drive out of the parking lot when the rain started to get a little harder. Still, it wouldn't be that bad, but then I saw her. Alone trying to keep her books dry.

"Slow down Darry!" Sodapop called,

"I can't there are people in the back of us,"

"Darry!" he groaned and slowed down, he rolled down the window,

"Get in!" She looked up and smiled but, then she saw Steve. He looked away pretending he didn't even know her, shaking his head telling her to leave; She only nodded.

"No, thank you. It's not that bad Darry. Bye, boys," quickly she made her way down the sidewalk holding her books tightly. Darry had to speed up as cars honked behind him. We came to a stop light,

Drip!

Drip!Drip!

Drip! Drip!Drip!Drip!Drip!

Suddenly, the rain came pouring down, and Darry looked back at were Avalon was getting drenched.

"Damn it, Steve! Why did you ha- Two-bit! What the hell areyou-get back in here!" I slammed the door running as quickly as I could I found her, running down the sidewalk. The rain was coming down fast I could barely see,

"Hey! Hey!" She looked up and smiled.

"Keith," She called out. Glory, I loved it when she called me that. I started to run a bit faster seeing as she was getting drenched.

Avalon's Pov

He started to run as he does in gym. Yes, I do watch him in gym class but, who could blame me. He looks so handsome while running. At the moment the thought was stripped away from my mind as he fell to the ground,

"Shit!" he groaned. I was overcome by fits and giggles as I helped him up, his cheeks red and his hair sticking to his face. As I tried to help him, I managed to fall myself.

There we sit in a vast puddled quietly laughing, taking off his jacket he held it over us. His grey eyes are pouring into mine; I felt something deep in the pit of my stomach I smiled and brushed his hair aside. He only chuckled and grinned,

"You look mighty cute with your hair all wet," He called over the rain. I felt my whole face heat up, and I smiled at him softly, "I take it as I looked mighty cute falling didn't I?" I started to laugh remembering how he fell crashing into the sidewalk.

"You looked real handsome running I must say," His eyes seemed to glow, and he cocked an eyebrow,

"Now, I knew I was right about you always watching me run during gym," He smiled readjusting the jacket, "You know I see you by the bleachers," He spoke softly, the smile of his face, so warming and genuine his whole face seemed to be smiling. I felt my whole world come apart, oh God he knows,

"I'm so sorry," I laughed at myself taking my face in my hands, "I'm so embarrassed," I giggled. He sat up quickly,

"No, don't be, don't be," I peeked an I up at him and laughed, I felt so uncomfortable sitting in my wet clothes in a puddle. "We should get up," He helped me up our clothes dripping water, he put on arm in his wet jacket and held out his other arm. The outside of his coat was soaked but, the inside seemed so warm. I got closer and nuzzled my way into the jacker, his free arm held the jacket and wrapped me. His arm was getting wet but, he said he didn't mind.

"Thank you for coming back; I know Steve doesn't really like me much," I spoke.

"Now, don't say that," He practically yelled over the rain,

"Keith we both know it," He only held you tighter,

"Look my sister ain't so sweet on me either, but she loves me, and Steve loves you," I shrugged,

"It's raining real hard," I called over the rain, he chuckled as we turned the corner to my block.

"No kidding," he smiled. Soon, we reached the end of the block Steve must have been dropped off at the Dx. I pulled away from him and sighed, wanted his warmth again, I grabbed his hand.

"Thank you, Keith," I smiled sheepishly, he only shrugged.

"I wish I had a camera," He spoke softly, I furrowed my eyebrows, he only chuckled.

"Oh," I blushed understanding what he meant, He pulled a strand of hair away from my face and grinned.

"I'd love to take you out sometime," he eyes were glowing just as they did before. I nodded he gripped my hand tighter, "You know all the times I imagined this, you always have some sort of excuse to not go out with me," He laughed. I shook my head,

"All the times I imagined this I always say yes,"

"Well, you're not imagining now so what does that mean for me?" He cocked an eyebrow,

"Mr. Mathews," I curtsied, "I would love to go out on a date with you," He grinned from ear to ear,

"And Mrs. Mathews, I'd love to go out on a date with you as well," My whole face flushed, he ran a hand through his wet hair, "Shoot, I guess I imagine you being Mrs. Mathews to much as well," then he walked off leaving me speechless.

SO THIS ONE WAS KINDA CHILL, BUT I REALLY LIKED IT. I hope you did too Avalon!

Okay, I have an announcement. I am pretty sure I'll be deleting a lot of like, spam chapters I posted and my Headcannons only because I'm running low on chapters for this book and I don't want it to end!
