Date Night

Bryce Loski's POV:

I was so ecstatic about my date with Juli today! Yesterday seemed to go by in a flash. Granted that I failed my Chemistry test yesterday with an F -. But nothing could possibly ruin my mood for tonight.

"Dude what should I wear today to impress Juli?", I asked Dave.

As I look over I see him laying on my bed playing the game Perfection.

"I don't know dude. Wear whatever floats your boat." "C'mon help me out here! I really want to impress Juli tonight. If this date goes well, she might ask me out again."

"Technically she didn't ask you out. Dana only wanted you to come because she didn't want Juli to feel like a third wheel.", Dave said with a shrug.

"True, but can't a guy dream?", I reply sadly.

I decided to wear this T-Shirt with a band named "Plain White Tee's" on it. I've never heard of the band. I don't really remember who gave me the T-Shirt either. I think it might of been Chet. He probably gave it to me on Christmas a couple of years ago. As Dave and I run downstairs we bump into my mom.

"Bye Mom, Love you!",I told her.

"Bye Mrs.Loski, Thanks for having me over.", Dave told my mom.

"Bye Boys! Get there safely! Gosh, don't they grow up so fast!"

"If only they can grow up faster.", said my Dad while reading the newspaper.

As we walked our bikes across the street to Juli's house to meet our dates, I can't help but wonder what Juli is wearing to our date. Maybe it's that sunflower dress she wore for picture day that I loved so much. Or maybe it's just a red, long-sleeved shirt with some ripped jeans and her black high top converse. But no matter what she wore, she looked beautiful in everything no matter what the style is. Sherry Stalls, the "Popular Girl" in our school is always bragging about how "expensive" her clothes are. But I'm pretty sure I can find those clothes at a thrift store.

Next thing I know, we're in front of Juli's house. I have Dave set down our bikes and I run up and ring the doorbell. I notice Will and I tell him, "Hi Buddy! One day you're going to grow super strong and tall for me okay? You see, I'm trying to impress this girl that lives here! I'd really appreciate it if you would become a good tree! It'll be a big help! Don't worry, I'll plant some flowers for you and maybe one day I'll put a swing on one of your branche-"

"Hey, Bryce, um who were you talking to?"

"OH, no one! You see there's um...something stuck in my throat." I try my best to fake cough.

"Sure you were Bryce."

"Where's Dana?", I say trying to change the topic.

"Oh, She's adding a little bit of makeup to finish her look. Can you do me a favor? I'd really appreciate it if you compliment her for me. You see, Later if you guys don't tell her anything, I know she's going to come crying to me telling me 'Juli, wHy DiDn'T tHeY nOtIcE mY mAkEuP??? i WoRkEd On ThIs FoR aN hOuR?!'"

After Juli made that comment, I was laughing so hard until I couldn't breathe. Maybe it's her amazing sense of humor that attracted me. Or the way her hair has a carefree vibe. Like she just woke up and went to school. But she pulls it off. As I'm lost in thoughts, Dana appears.

"Hey everyone! Sorry, it took me so long, I was looking for my sweater. Turns out I left it in Juli's backyard." "Sure you were Dana.", Juli replied. Dana smacked Juli's arm with the back of her hand while smiling.

We both fell into laughter.

Dana gave us a "what did I miss" look. "Haha, very funny you guys. Are you all ready to leave?", Dave asked us.
