Family (Pt. 2)

"Dad!" Phillip called as he burst through the door back from high school
"Dad I need to talk to you."

John emerged from he and Alexander's room "Yes Phillip?"

Phillip flopped down in a chair and throwing off his back "I need some advice."

"Advice for what?" John asked while sitting on the chair next to him.

Phillip went bright red a looked at his lap "l-love advice."

John smiled at him "ah young love."

Phillip went even redder "please don't make this harder than it already had to be."

John laughed "okay so what are you looking for specifically."

"Well..." Phillip fiddled with his thumbs "you and Papa were like best friends before you started dating right?"

John nodded "yeah we were best friends."

"So how did you ask him out or how did he ask you out?" Phillip whined "How were you not so scared that you'd ruin you friendship?"

John laughed "oh Phil I was terrified to ruin it. That's why I didn't even make a move Alex did."

"How did he do it?" Phillip questioned.

"The nerd wrote me a letter" John joked but his face was lovesick "I still have it."

"He wrote you a letter?"

"Yep" John answered simply "it was so beautiful."

Phillip smiled "so do you think if I wrote a letter then they would return my feelings."

"Well Phil I already had feelings for him when he wrote the letter but I think writing a letter is very romantic" John told him "I read it everyday."

Phillip's eyes lit up "Yeah then I'll do that!"

"Who is this letter even for?" John smirked.

Phillip blushed "well I- um-"

"Let's see best friend" John though for a moment "Oh it's Theodosia."

Philip went even redder "Okay maybe it is Theo."

"Well then there is no need to be worried" John laughed "I mean she obviously has a crush on you."

"What?" Phillip's eyes widened "no she doesn't."

"Oh please" John stood up from his seat "she practically has hearts in her eyes when she looks at you."

Phillip huffed "I hate you."

John kissed the top of his head "love you too Phillip."

Time Skip

"Papa!" Phillip walked into his father's study.

Alexander swivelled in his chair "yes Phillip?"

"I was wondering if you could help me with something" Phillip asked sheepishly.

"Yeah sure what is it?" Alexander said.

"Well" Phillip bit his lip "I'm writing a letter."

"For school?" Alexander asked.

"Kind of" Phillip rubbed the back of his neck.
