Family

"Papa?"

"Hmph?"

"Papa?"

"Yes Phillip ?"

"I had a nightmare."

"A nightmare?"

Phillip nodded his head vigorously.

"Come here."

Phillip beamed as he crawled in between his two Dads. As he stumbling across Alexander he managed to tumble into John waking him up with a startle.

"Jesus Christ" John's eyes sprang open.

"Sorry Dad" Phillip apologised.

"Well if it ain't my little soldier" John smiled tapping Phillip on the nose.

Phillip giggled.

"What are you doing in here trooper?"

Phillip fiddled with his thumbs "I had a nightmare.

"A nightmare?" John frowned "What about?"

"Well Papa wouldn't stop teasing his friend Aaron" Phillip explained.

Alexander spoke "Yeah?"

"And then Aaron shot Papa" Phillip whimpered.

Alexander laughed slightly and muttered "sounds like me."

John reached over and gently slapped his arm "Oh would you stop."

Alexander smiled at Phillip "Don't worry Phillip I'm not going anywhere anytime soon."

"Your promise?" Phillip sniffed.

"I promise" Alexander kissed the top of Phillip's head.

"What about Dad?"

John ruffled Phillips hair "I'll never leave you or Papa."

Phillip smiled and snuggled into the both of them.

*Time Skip To Morning*

"Papa?"

"Hmph?"

"Papa?"

"Yes Phillip?"

"I'm hungry."

"Tell your Dad."

"Da-"

John stood up from the bed "come on Phillip let's get you some breakfast and if your Papa doesn't get up he won't be getting any pancakes."

Alexander shot out of bed "I'm coming, i'm coming."

Phillip laughed at his Papa as he raced to the kitchen. He sat down at the table as John made the pancakes.

"Flip it" Alexander and Phillip chanted "Flip it, Flip it!"

John flipped the pancake up in the air and it landed perfectly in the pan.

Phillip clapped loudly and Alexander just snickered "would've been better if you landed it the first time."

John stared at the pancake he dropped on the floor "Oh shut up."

John gave the pancake to Phillips once it was done and Phillip lathered it with sugar.

"Whoa" Alexander laughed "Do you want some pancake with that sugar."

John rolled his eyes "God you're such a Dad."

"I do hope so" Alexander put an arm around Phillip.

There was a knock on the door. Phillip  ran over to it and opened it. There stood Aaron Burr and his daughter Theodosia.
