Jimin pov
"I'm telling you Mr. Park. There's something evil here."
"I understand that you believe that miss, and that's why I set this camera up here. If the energy signals in the room change, or it witnesses any interference, this camera will go o-"
Before I could finish my sentence the flash went off on the camera facing the closet. We both turned our head in that direction at the same time.
The door slowly creaked open, and a arm stretched out from the closet.
I cocked my head slightly in confusion as the woman beside me began screaming. I didn't sense any evil in the room. There's no reason that hand should be there.
I walked towards it, as the hand began to pull back into the closet.
"What the hell are you doing?!" The woman behind me yelled.
I heaved a sigh and grabbed the hand before it could hide within the closet. The hand wasn't cold, it didn't have any claws or long fingernails, nor was it pale like most demon hands. I smirked, and with a quick yank of her wrist, a little girl fell out of the closet and hit the ground with a thud."Macy? What are you doing in the closet!?" The woman yelled, already folding her arms in anger. I looked down at the little girl who hung her head in shame.
"I wanted to scare my aunt for a fun joke. I didn't think she'd get a ghostbuster involved. I was too scared to admit it after you got here."I pondered how I was going to explain the situation to the girl in a way she would understand.
"You know it's not nice to scare people little girl," I began, "Even if it's a joke, you should confess when you do something wrong. You know there are a lot of families out there who really need a ghostbuster's help, and because I'm helping your aunt, I'm not helping them. Didn't your aunt ever tell you not to call 911 unless there is an emergency?"
She slowly nodded in response."Well, it's similar to that. By calling me, I'm not out helping someone who genuinely needs help. I suggest you go and apologize to your aunt for causing her so much trouble," I smiled.
"I'm sorry sir, and I'm sorry aunty," she dusted herself off and ran into her aunt's arms.As her aunt began lecturing the little girl, I quickly packed my equipment up and went to put it away in my car. The woman and her niece met me at the porch where they thanked me for coming.
They waved me off as I got situated and drove away. I was just beginning to relax when my phone started buzzing. As soon as I hit the freeway I put in my bluetooth headpiece to take the call coming from the Vatican.
The Vatican was the main headquarters of the Roman Catholic Church in Italy. The bishops there mostly helped by sending me professional exorcists, funding me when I needed new equipment, or relocating victims of evil when I needed to find them a new place for safety. The Vatican were basically the closest things I had to bosses and sponsors.
"Hello?" I finally answered.
"Hello Jimin, how was the case?"
"Luckily another false alarm, just a little girl who wanted to prank her aunt."
"Oh that's good, well I have some news.""Oh. Yes?" I tried to hide my worry, usually news from the Vatican wasn't good. They either needed to inconvenience me and put me on a case with other idiots who didn't know what they were doing, or they wanted to give me a huge case in which a powerful demon was out.
I could tell by the silence on the other end of the line that they were still thinking of how to word their next few sentences.
"Well, we have two people not too far from you who have just recently passed their studies and are ready to take on spirit cases. I was hoping you could take them with you on your next case."
I heaved a sigh of relief. News from the Vatican was always annoying, but training newbies still wasn't as bad as nearly getting killed in a demon house."So you want me to train them?" I questioned, making sure I understood them right.
"Yes. I'd like you to just show them how you handle cases before they decide to become full demonologists."
"But sir, im not a demonologist, I'm-"
"I know, you're a paranormal clairvoyant. You don't hunt or study demons you just communicate with them. I understand. But frankly I can't find another demonologist in their area for miles so if you could please do the Vatican this favor."
