Jimin pov

Each step I made up the stairs felt heavy. Whatever was up there, knew I was coming.
I walked into the two girls' bedroom and searched around.
"What should we do in this situation?" I asked rhetorically to the two boys.
Jhope started pulling out equipment.
"Stop that!" I hissed as he dropped the bag.
"Don't we need it to catch the demons? Without evidence we can't get an exorc-"
I shushed him before he finished.
"Don't use that word."
"Why? What's the big deal?" He asked.
"Two new rules for you boys to learn. Number one, don't ever use that E word."
"You mean exorcis-"
"Shh!" I said, suppressing every urge to grab J-Hope by the shoulders and shake him around.
They looked at me with puzzled expressions.

I shook my head, "Many people think the main goal of these cases is to cleanse the demons out of the house. I don't believe that. No matter how you feel, the most important goal is to not disrespect the entities in the home. If you keep that goal in mind, you should survive. If you start throwing that E word around, they begin to get nervous. After all, the last thing these entities want to happen is for them to get sent back to where they came from."
"Hell?" V asked.
I nodded, "you don't want nervous demons when you're investigating a case. All it does is make them more violent, and less communicable. We want to talk to them without us having to fear getting ripped apart. Which takes me to rule #2, don't go throwing equipment around as soon as you get here. Havnt you ever seen any horror movies? Two things always happen when you start using equipment to record entities. Some demons will want to show off for the cameras, therefore causing even more trouble. Other demons will get extremely angry. Mostly because putting a camera on a demon is like when the paparazzi shoves a camera in a celebrity's face. All it does is annoy them and make them lash out. Therefore, we only bring out equipment if we're sure it's only a spirit, or if there's no hope of peaceful communication."

V scoffed, "I doubt we're gonna get any communications. What demons wants to talk things out?"
"You never know," I sighed, "every house is different, and no two demons are the same. More demons here means there are more chances that one of them has a point to voice across to us."

They nodded, most likely wanting me to shut up, and began making their sleeping bags on the ground.
"Where's your sleeping bag?" V asked me.
"I'm going to sleep in one of these beds. Maybe sleeping in one of them will lead to a repeat of the events that occurred the other day."
"So then, are we doing any actual investigating right now? Or are we going to sleep to see what happens?" Jhope asked followed by an over exaggerated yawn.

"Let's sleep for tonight. That will let the entities get a feel for us," I said looking around one final time.
V raised his eyebrows, "Well that sure isn't going to help me sleep tonight."
I ignored them as they got into their sleeping bags. Trying to make a decision between the two beds with different occurrences, I decided I'd sleep on the bed where the girl saw the actual entity. If I was lucky, perhaps I would get a visitor in the middle of the night as well. Finally ready to sleep, I said my good nights to the two boys as I turned out the light.

It didn't take long after I got into bed before I heard the two boys snoring below me. Contemplating it, I finally came up with a theory as to why these two made it to the top of their class. Yes they were idiots, but they were the only new demonologists I knew who weren't scared about dealing with their first case. Although I'm not sure a lack of fear was a good enough equivalent to make up for having no knowledge on the topic of their job, but at least they were eager to help people. Bravery and purpose were really the only two qualities you needed to be good at this job. The other stuff they could always learn in time. Though I didn't mean it, a small smile appeared across my face as I drifted off to sleep.

Within a few hours I was jolted awake by the feeling of someone holding my arms down. When I looked up I saw a silhouette with glowing red eyes hovering over me. I could tell by its energy that it was definitely one of the figures that I saw in my vision, but it wasn't the powerful one I was looking for. Using enough strength I was able to push myself into more of a sitting position as his hold on my arms tightened.
"What's.... your name?" I said between breaths, still feeling deep pressure upon my chest. He cocked his head to the side a bit and looked down at me. I tried to focus but I still couldn't make out his face, I suppose he only wanted to remain a shadow.
"Tell me yours," I heard his voice spoke.
It sounded human, meaning he must've escaped hell before his voice got mutilated.
"I'm Jimin."
"Jimin...." he repeated.
"What's yours?" I asked.
All I got in response was laughter.
"You know.... your friend's cute, cute enough to eat," the shadow pointed down to Taehyung sleeping on the ground beside me.
I thought for a second before I smirked, "be my guest."
I still couldn't see his physical body, but I could tell by his silhouette that he was confused.
He didn't respond to me again after that. I simply felt the weight lifted off my shoulders as he disappeared from above me.
I looked around for anymore interruptions before I fell back asleep.

A/n: fun fact, I accidentally messed up and made Taehyung a different character from who he was supposed to be during the planning stage but I'm gonna make this work somehow so no worries
