Taehyung pov

A few minutes after Jimin was calmed down, and finally out of his weird psychic trance, I asked him what happened. He blew out the candles in front of us and thought deeply for a second. "I managed to figure out one demon's name. I think he might be useful." Jimin looked over at me with a small smirk on his face, "and I think you're the perfect one to help me with this."
"Excuse me?" I raised an eyebrow.
"As far as I know, there's four demons. I've met two of them, three if you count the one that tried to drown me even though I haven't seen his real form. Since I have the name of the demon that likes you. I think I can use you to get some information from him."
"He likes me? Didn't you say that the one that likes me is the same one who wants to eat me? I don't think I can just call him out and talk to him when he sees me as a three course meal."
"Seriously V? Demons don't eat people, he just wanted to scare me cause he knows I don't want you two getting hurt. So will you help me?"

I thought for a second, I did find it sweet that he just admitted he cared about us.
"Fine, But if I die, just know it's your fault."
"Just don't say anything stupid to him," Jimin shrugged.
"Sure that'll be easy," I retorted, rolling my eyes. I went into my bag and grabbed out my wooden cross.
"What do you think you're doing? Fighting a vampire?" Jimin asked.
"I'm summoning a demon aren't I? This will protect me," I said holding it close to my chest.
He burst out laughing.
"A cross is anything but protective. It only helps when a priest is performing a You-know-What. Otherwise, it only angers a demon."
"Don't they like, burn at the sight of it or something?" I asked.
"Let's put it this way. Placing a cross in a demon infested household is the equivalent of walking into the middle of a church and sacrificing someone to satan," he shrugged.
I paused in confusion.
"First off, why do you have so many odd analogies? Second, don't you mean it'd be the equivalent to walking in and putting a pentagram up or something?" Jhope asked.

Jimin shook his head, "Okay let me explain it this way because this is also important to understand for your training. If someone put a pentagram up in a church, what's the worst that could happen? Most likely the priest would take it down and just pray for the person's salvation.
Now, let's say a satan worshipper walked into the priest's church. This church is considered the priest's holy land right? Well, if that worshiper disrespected the priest's morals by committing the sin of murder on his holy land, and then the worshipper immediately proceeded to pray to the antichrist, don't you think the priest would be angry? It's the same thing.
If a family walked into a demon's house, they are essentially walking into what the demon sees as his unholy land. If the family then disrupts the demon by moving in and messing with its stuff it will be slightly annoyed and will act out to show that.
However, when we come here, demons see us as the equivalent of that satan worshipper in the church. That worshipper represents everything that is unholy, but we represent everything that is holy. We've already angered the demon enough just being present, but then there are investigators like you that want to shove a cross, the symbol of god, into their face. That will really piss them off, and that's when you get demons that kill.
Therefore, committing the anti-sin of placing a cross in a demon's house, or especially shoving it in their face, is the equivalent of committing the sin of murder in a priest's church. Now does my analogy make sense? You can't base everything you see off of horror movies," he muttered the last part, obviously out of breath from explaining another annoying analogy.

I simply nodded, trying to understand exactly what he meant. He looked at both of us and sighed.
"Long story short, demons get pissed when you hide behind a cross hoping it will protect you, so don't do it. If you really want to survive a demon infestation, avoid disrespecting it, and in some cases go out of your way to respect it as much as you can."
"How do you do that?" I asked.

Jimin quickly grabbed the cross out of my hand and flipped it upside down, "There are three main ways to show respect to a demon. One, If a demon comes into contact with a cross, it will almost always turn it upside down because that shows us that something unholy is present and upset. However, if you hang it up upside down, most demons will recognize that you are there to talk to them respectively and less crazy activity will occur. The second way to keep a respective conversation is, if a demon tells you not to do something, don't do it. If it tells you not to say god's name around it, don't say it. It's that simple. A lot of investigators think that by disrespecting them, you are showing assertiveness. But the truth is, disrespect is one way to get demons to tear you to pieces and wear your insides as a necklace, so don't be stupid."
I shivered at the thought, more afraid now than I was at the beginning of this conversation.

"Now, the last important piece of advice I have on this topic, is this. In a demon's mind, he is always above god. When they scare us, or throw us against a wall, or whatever they do, they don't want us to pray to god to save us. I've learned that what they really want is for us to beg them, the demons, for mercy. That makes them feel powerful, and that's what they crave. You are a lot more likely to not get ripped in half if you just beg them to stop hurting you.
Now Taehyung, If you don't remember any of this conversation, remember this. When it comes to demons, instead of killing them with kindness, you have to survive with kindness. Otherwise you will be just another name on a list of investigators who've been slaughtered in this field."

"So like, are you saying I have to act like a demon worshipper if I don't want to die?" I asked confused.
"You don't have to actually worship any demons, just don't go throwing religion around. Don't mention anything holy and you'll be fine," he patted me on the shoulder.
I grabbed the cross again, holding it upside down like he said.
"What exactly am I doing again? Summoning a demon?" I asked, hoping my understanding was wrong.

Jimin nodded and handed me a piece of paper, a candle, and a book.
"On this paper is the demon's name. Don't say it until you've read the words I highlighted in the book. This is the first time we're bringing his physical form into this world. Be careful, and don't let him possess you," he instructed.
"Seriously? How do I do that?" I asked, feeling more nervous every time Jimin opened his mouth.
"I don't really know how you normal people do it. I've had... experience in the area so I'm not very susceptible to being possessed."
"How so?" Jhope spoke up.
"Not important. Taehyung just survive and get me my information. Oh, and you two better not tell the church about that book. They might cancel my certification if they find out I got a book on how to summon demons. We're really only supposed to talk to them if they come to us, but that normally doesn't work out the best in my opinion," he muttered on.

I laughed. At first I thought Jimin was the most boring demon hunter I've met, but he's actually really smart about what he does. He's not afraid to get his hands dirty, his view on demons is new and outrageous, and he's got some secrets. I wouldn't say that he's the best, but I trust him enough to know that it'll work.

"Alright.... well... I guess I'll go summon a demon then," I shrugged after convincing myself that this was somehow going to help the case. The two boys nodded, wished me luck, and left the room, closing the door behind them. All I was left with was silence, and a pit in my stomach.
