Jimin pov
"As long as you're okay," Taehyung muttered, looking away to avoid anyone seeing how upset he really was.
I didn't understand how two people could care so much about someone they've only known a few days, but I guess it went both ways for me as well. It's not everyday I'd let a cruel and powerful demon drain all my energy for the safety of two idiots.
I glanced up at my car mirror and made eye contact with Hoseok in the back.
"If you die Jimin, I'm gonna kill you," he half-joked.
I smiled, "I understand. I've been doing this a long time, I'm sure I won't get hurt. If everyone's done pouring their heart out, can we go?" I asked.
I didn't get an answer, which I took as a yes.
I slowly pulled back onto the road and picked up to the speed limit. It was only then that I noticed the painful ache in my head and the constant ringing in my ears had suddenly disappeared. It had been going on since I made that deal last night, and I didn't know if the lack of pain now was a good sign or a bad sign.
"Am I dropping you off at that one house I picked you up at?" I asked.
"If you think we're gonna leave you alone with four demons inside your head, you have another thing coming. We're going to your house," Taehyung practically ordered.
"Alright fine. But not all of them are in my head. Only one is. Like I said, those other three brats aren't powerful enough to get in my head this fast," I said.
"If they're not in your head, but still attached to you. Where are they?" Hoseok asked.
"They are still in the infestation stage right now. Wherever I go they follow, but they can't get inside my head and speak to me. I can feel the weight of them though, they're close," I said.
The car remained in silence for a few minutes after that as I enjoyed the couple moments of peace.
"Jimin, this may sound odd but when this is over I really need you to tell us about yourself. How did you learn to manifest your powers? How do you know so much about demons? More specifically, what was that about you knowing the boss demon's brother? There's no way a simple psychic like you can know more about demons than the two that are actually studying them," Taehyung spoke a bit rudely.
"Do you have secrets Taehyung?" I asked, obviously annoyed.
"I mean.... I'm sure I do."
"I'll tell you about my life when I want to tell you about my life okay? I don't go asking about your personal life 24/7." I said defensively.
"Can you at least tell us how you knew who the demon and his brother were?" He asked.
"If I speak about it without his permission he might get angry. It's best to leave it alone at the moment Taehyung."
He sighed in anger, "With how much trouble he's causing us, I don't see why we shouldn't make him angry! Maybe it would get him out of you!"
"Let me tell you two boys a little story okay? A long time ago I used to know this one demonologist. Not very well, but we did a case or two together. I don't remember his name but I do remember this. He always told everyone that the only real way to get a demon out of a house was to anger them, get them into a human host, and exorcise them from the host. If that wasn't bad enough, we also found out he was performing the exorcisms himself, without a priest."
"How? Aren't demonologists not allowed to exorcise demons if if they aren't ordained?" Taehyung asked.
"The church requires all demonologists to bring in a professional minister when an exorcism is required. Most people in this profession learn how to perform an exorcism in case of an absolute emergency, but you would still get in trouble with the Vatican if you did it without an amazing excuse. The idea is if there's enough time to get a minister out to you, then you can't do anything to the demon until the minister's present. However, it's important to know that a minister will not come out to you unless you have enough evidence to prove that a demon is in fact present. It's a lot of work, but it keeps people safe."
