Perched in a booth at Cain's, Dean, Castiel, Gabriel and Sammy are all together. They are huddled around a table of food, laughing, smiling and enjoying one another's company.
Dean's arm is drooped over Castiel's shoulder, holding him close, which makes Cas smile. Opposite are Gabe and Sam, gradually getting closer, nudging each other and chuckling at jokes. It was so nice to catch up after such a long time, it was as if they had all been best friends for years.
"To Sammy." Dean holds up a beer towards the centre of the table.
"To Sammy!" Cas and Gabriel repeat and they all clink their glasses.
Bashfully, Sam takes a sip, rolling his eyes. "I am not 5 anymore, Dean."
"You will always be Sammy to me." Dean shrugs with a grin.
"I like Sammy," Gabriel comments, taking a gulp of his own before turning to face Sam. "It's cute."
Tilting his head, Sam faces him with a smile. "You're one to talk." He winks.
Dean coughs, turning red himself at the obvious flirtation happening before him.
Sam squints his eyes at him and chuckles. "I'll go get us another round."
"You've met your match, Gabe." Castiel laughs, watching the way his eyes follow Sammy to the bar.
Gabriel scoffs, not taking his eyes off of him. "I've already gone through turning one of the Winchester brothers gay, I am not going through all of that again." He laughs.
Sam looks over his shoulder at them, obviously hearing their conversation. "Who says you're going to have to turn this one?" He shouts back at them playfully, leaning over the bar and smirking to himself.
It makes Gabe suck on his cheeks and inhale a sharp breath. "He's, he's..." He notices Dean staring at him. "What?"
"That's my younger brother." Dean pouts.
Gabriel hmphs, gesturing at Cas. "That's my younger brother." He then laughs quietly. "Hey, does this make me a cougar?"
"Don't talk about my little Sammy like that." Dean replies in a high-pitched voice.
It makes Gabriel chuckle, loving the wound up retaliation he can always get out of him. "Don't talk about him like that? You little shit you were sleeping with mine and didn't even tell me!" He slaps the table, encouraging the banter.
"I, I..." Dean stammers. "I didn't know!" He answers defensively.
Gabriel takes a sip from his beer. "I mean, you were even telling me all of that gross gooey stuff about falling in with love with him." He shrugs, pointing his bottle at him. "Ya tool."
"I did not." Dean kicks his shins.
"Dean," Castiel pauses, turning to him and placing a hand on his leg. "You what?"
"He loves ya, Cas." Gabe tilts his drink as if he's making a toast. "He never shuts up about it."
Castiel's brother's words make him look to Dean shyly, his heart pounding from excitement. Those words make him jittery. He watches the way Dean's cheeks grow a crimson red and he swallows hard.
"Uhm..." Is all Dean murmurs, looking down at his lap embarrassed.
"Dean." Castiel tilts his head, shuffling in his seat. He takes his face in his hands, smiling at him. "I love you, too."
"Awkward..." Gabriel comments in his satirical tone, excusing himself from the table. "This is my queue to go and hit on your brother."
Dean doesn't care for his obnoxious comment and instead focuses on Castiel sitting beside him. "You do?" He asks him softly.
"Of course." Castiel nods, smiling through his red cheeks.
"All this time, I..." Dean stifles, sheepish. "I thought I was just being, y'know, a bit too much."
"You, too much? Come on." Cas chuckles.
"You know what I mean." Dean shakes off his reply with a smile. "With the house stuff, practically asking you to move in without really asking you..." He adds awkwardly. "I was just a bit scared that I was being too hard on."
"You," Castiel grins, running his hands down his shirt. "Could never."
Dean sighs, rubbing his hands down Castiel's sides. He inhales Castiel's sweet cologne, leaning in close to him to give him a kiss. He presses their lips together, absorbing the amazing feeling he shares with him. God, nothing could ever beat this.
"I love you." Dean whispers over his lips, feelings their stubble rub against each other. It makes him smile and lean back.
"And for the record," Castiel hums back to him, looking at him with adoration. "I would love to move in with you, Dean."
Dean is obviously bashful, kicking his heels on the floor and smiling down at the table. "And Mittens?"
"And Mittens." Cas nods, chuckling.
Dean sighs. "So that means we have to keep the print?" He says with with a scowl, although his true smile shines through.
Castiel pokes his chest. "We are keeping the print. And it is going right above your TV." He teases.
"Dammit." Dean curses sarcastically, turning them both to laughter once again. He watches the way Cas smiles and it makes his heart expand. "I'm so happy I met you, Cas."
"I'm happy I met you too, Dean." Castiel reaffirms, beaming. "Who knew that my green-eyed stranger would turn into my green-eyed boyfriend?"
"Green-eyed stranger?" Dean pouts, looking at him with a little confusion.
"It's..." Cas giggles. "Never mind, that's a story for another time."
