Castiel lays in bed, Mittens by his side. He's on his laptop scrolling through numerous job sites in hope of finding something that will pop out at him. He'd applied for a few jobs already just in the local area, but unfortunately all of his applications had already been rejected. He sighs, getting bored and closing his laptop lid, placing it on his dressing table. He's beginning to feel like it's all just completely useless and that he'll never get something anywhere.
Right now he knows that getting a job and a stable income should be the most on his mind, but he can't seem to tear his thoughts away from Dean.
He thinks about earlier at the bus stop. The way he dared to do what he did, not knowing what the consequences would be. It was all worth it in the end, to get that kiss. It felt indescribable, phenomenal.
He's kissed many men before. But none like Dean Winchester. He wants to daydream more about how his lips felt, but instead thoughts of whether he'd ever see his green-eyed friend again cloud over anything else.
He's worried. When he left the bus stop earlier he was confident, certain that Dean would call him back. But... would he?
It's past 9 o'clock now. If Dean wanted to talk to him, or even come over as implied, surely he would've called by this time.
Cas wanted to be smooth and smart, trying to play on prior events. The way Dean had looked him up to get his number before — he didn't actually expect Dean to try and find out where he lived, calling really would've been all it took for him to give him his address.
Maybe that was it though. Maybe Dean didn't want what Cas did. Maybe... he only kissed Castiel back in the blur and confusion of the moment, not because he actually wanted to.
Disrupting his thought process is their door buzzer going off in the main room. He waits quietly, to hear if any other footsteps leave their bedroom to get the door. Alfie's not home, so it's down to him and Balthazar. Balthazar's room is closer, but that doesn't mean that his lazy ass would actually get it.
The door buzzes for a second time.
"Cas!" Balthazar's voice echoes through the flat.
Not bothering to argue, he slides out of his bed and leaves his room, heading for the door of their apartment.
His eyes widen when he swings it open and sees his green-eyed-not-so-much-now-stranger.
"Dean," He says, happiness evident in his face. "You... found out where I live." He adds, more unexpectedly.
Dean's standing there with a briefcase. Cas doesn't ask what's inside, nor does he care that much. All that he sees is Dean, and a huge wave of relief and excitement washes over him.
"Cas." Is all Dean replies, not covering the smile that's sat on his face. He takes a step towards him, coming into the apartment. "Can I?" He asks.
Nodding, Cas steps aside, unsure of what to say. He could burst at the seams due to happiness, it's almost overwhelming.
Dean barely squeezes out the words, "I have a reason for us to see each other", before Castiel kisses him again.
He can't hold it back, ever since he left Dean earlier all he wanted was for their lips to be touching again. He wanted Dean's hand around him, pulling him closer. He wanted to feel Dean kissing him back with the same desperation.
