Dean rubs at the sleep in his eyes, rolling his head back. He's sat on one of the red leather chairs in a booth at Cain's, a well-needed black coffee is placed in front of him.
It's Sunday morning. Following his restless night's sleep over the past couple of days, or lack of, he asked Cas this morning whether he'd like to see him again. Of course, Castiel ecstatically accepted. He said he'd come down with Alfie who was working the 9am shift, Dean figured he would be one of Cas' flatmates.
Dean checks his watch, 8.45. He hopes Castiel would get here soon. Spending a night with Cas distracted him from what sleeping in his own bed was like. He didn't miss that – he's so shattered that he can barely keep his eyes open.
Before he spaces out completely, Castiel and his friend walks in. Dean recognises him to be the worker who offered him the pink and blue straws, so he did know...
"Hey." Castiel greets him, sliding into the seat opposite.
Just looking at him lifts Dean's mood. His bright eyes, his happy face, his friendly grin. "Hey." He says back.
"Are you alright?" Castiel asks him, tilting his head. "You look really tired today."
Dean tries to shake off his comment with a low chuckle. "I'm fine, just... tired." He shrugs, using a smile as cover. "Not a great night's sleep is all."
"Did you miss me?" Cas asks playfully, giving him a little nudge with his hand.
He cocks his head in return, prodding him back. "Maybe." He grows red at the thought of what he's going to ask next, but goes to spit it out anyway. "I was actually wondering if you'd... like to, uh stay at my place tonight?"
"Your place?" Castiel repeats, looking pleasantly surprised as he leans over the table between them.
"Yeah, well," Dean shrugs. "It's your first day tomorrow, I wanna be there to help you out, being at mine could make things easier." He continues, hoping his excuse isn't too transparent. "I'll make sure you don't get lost, or something." He blushes, knowing that he's as see through as anything.
"Like a parent walking their kid on their first day of school?" Castiel smirks at him, speaking again before Dean can answer. "I'd love to."
"I can pick you up tonight, if you'd like." Dean offers. "Don't wanna be dragging your ironed clothes in a backpack to mine, do you?" He comments sarcastically.
"Ironed?" Is all Cas echoes, who looks unsure if he even knows what that means.
His wide-eyes make Dean smile. "If I'm a parent taking my kid to school, then like any parent would, I'm making sure those clothes are ironed, pal."
"Well," Cas sighs, looking down at the crinkled top he's wearing. "You might need to help me with that one."

Bag in hand, Cas sits on the arm of his sofa staring at his front door. Eagerly awaiting Dean's arrival, he swings his bag about like a child excited for a sleepover. He attempted to hide it this morning how ridiculously pleased that Dean had invited him over to stay.
The buzzer goes off and he leaps at the door, swinging it open to reveal Dean. "Hey", he says, his smile not leaving his face.
"Hey, ready?" Dean asks, peering in to see if anybody is behind him. Seeing the coast is clear, he dives in for a welcoming kiss. He pulls back with a relaxed grin.
"I'm good." Cas nods, running through a mental list he'd made. He had the clothes he needed, his necessities, he even shaved... Alfie was feeding Mittens for him. He shakes his backpack in his hand. "Let's go."
