"This is ridiculous," I mumbled bitterly, squished in a coffin with Sebastian, Ciel, and Grell.
"I don't think it is," Grell murmured pervertedly as he tried to wriggle closer to Sebastian.
Ciel grunted in displeasure while I hissed in pain.
"Ouch! That was my arm!"
Sebastian let out a long, tired sigh. "Please stop moving. We are nearly there. I strongly recommend you all staying very quiet."
Sensing his deadly aura, that is exactly what we did.
Sneaking into the cathedral was successful and unsettling. Although, I suppose it wasn't so much as sneaking as we walked right in after one lame attempt.
Don't like churches, Noxa grumbled.
Neither do I, Luxxi agreed. But at the same time, it can be amusing.
Or troublesome.
"You brat! How dare you!"
I turned to see Grell assaulting children in uniform. It was hilarious. And I was in agreement that most children were very annoying.
Heads up. We got company. Noxa was referring to the nun.
Sebastian and Ciel approached her, talking. I shifted uncomfortably on my feet. Stained glass lined the monastery. They would have been beautiful to any normal human. But they only reminded me of horrors.
Fire seared my shins and feet. The smoke choked my lungs. The rope dug into my wrists and ankles. I was hanging, suspended, on a wooden replica of a cross. My toes barely touched the straw kindles. I was vaguely aware of blood dripping from my palms. Just ahead were stained glass windows lining the outside of a church. The firelight illuminated their colors vividly. White, yellow, red, blue. Then the smoke started clouding my teary eyes. I couldn't breathe.
I couldn't breathe.
I couldn't breathe.
I couldn't breathe.
I couldn't--
"(Y/N)!"
I gasped. Air filled my lungs. I gulped it greedily.
"She did stop breathing," Ciel mused with interest.
"I can tell when someone's breathing!" Grell exclaimed, indignant and offended. "Who do you think I am!"
Sebastian was nowhere in sight. Neither was the nun. What was her name again? Mandy? Michelle? Math... Mathilda! Mathilda Simmons. Right. She sleeps with my beloved.
Ouch.
"We better get going." My voice sounded weak. My throat was dried. I just wanted to finish as quickly as I could.
