I woke up in the middle of the night. Ryan was on watch and was sitting there. I went and sat next to him. I could tell that Callan was still awake. "What's wrong?" I asked him. "I feel bad for Edaline." He replied. "I mean, did you see her? She looked really sad. And I don't think pranking them was right. Grady has a right to believe that I'm dangerous." Callan sat up. "Let me read your Shadowvapor," he said. "Please".
Callan's shadow crept toward Ryan and his shadow connected with Ryan's. Callans face twisted in confusion. His shadow slunk back to him. "Ryan, what really was that invention you were working on?" Now my eyes were focused on Ryan.
"It was... a weapon." We stared at him. "What type of weapon." I asked slowly. "The Neverseen blackmailed me. They said-" "Wait," interrupted Callan. He took all of our imparters and smashed them against the floor. It was a miracle nobody else woke up. "Ok go."
Ryan inhaled and exhaled. "They said that they had my human parents," his voice started to break. "And if I did not make a weapon for them they would kill them." A tear leaked down his eye. We were silent.
And then Callan screamed. He got up and punched the wall so hard there was a very, very loud crack and his knuckles started bleeding. He sat back down. "Sorry about that," he said.
In the process of doing this he woke everyone else and we explained the situation. Everybody agreed to do their best to help Ryan. That's when I noticed that Callan a very pale. More than the situation called for. There was so much blood too and it had gathered in a pool at his feet.
"Let me see your hand," I said. I examined it and it seemed that it was definitely broken and a lot of the skin around his knuckles had been teared up. "Let's get you to Elwin I said." "No," he cried. "Alden will find me there." "Get Dex's mom, she a physician, right?" So his mom came to look at it and he got an elixir, was bandaged up and we started plotting.
Unfortunately, the triplets got to Callan before we did and they decided it was a good idea to poke at his broken hand. He was crying from the pain by the time we saved him. "Hopefully this elixir kicks in soon," he wheezed.
We all satin a circle and started to discuss. "Ok first we need to call Mr. Forkle." Callan said. We all nodded and we decided to put a message in a bottle then leave it in the cave where Sophie left her first message. The message just said: meet us here at 1:00pm tomorrow. Callan wanted to put the bottle over in the cave. But the elixir had not healed his hand yet so I went. It went smoothly and I got back with no problems.
Next we brainstormed what we should do about the weapon. Callan had a brilliant idea. He said that we could make a real weapon and a fake weapon. Then when the Neverseen asked us to test it out, we would use the real one and when they took it it would be a fake one.
"Luckily me and Kelly are already cognates since we went through training in the forbidden cities," said Callan. "My hand will probably be healed by tomorrow also."
"Ryan start working on the weapons," I ordered. He started to leave out the door but Dex's mom stopped him. "I'm sorry kids," she said. "But I can't let you do this." She stepped aside reveaLing Alden and Grady behind her. Everybody, run! I screamed in everyone's head. Ryan had fixed our imparters while Callan was being tended to, so we picked them up and ran to the window. Grady mesmerized me and Callan must have seen this, because he threw a pencil at him that made him lose control. Ryan busted open the window and we all jumped out, while Callan threw smoke bombs behind us.
Yesterday, the gnomes had made the same outfit as Callan for us, so it looked like an action scene from a human movie.I Heard Alden behind us yelLing: "Please Callan, Sophie stop running, please." We paid no heed to his wishes and kept running.
The GobLin bodyguard was catching up on us, so Callan being the person he is, suddenly turned and threw his body against his face and started trying to slow him.
Callan kept distracting the gobLin behind us as we ran for the cliff. Just then I suddenly saw Sandor barreLing toward us. We barely managed to jump out of the way before he caught one of us. Callan stopped grappLing with Dex's bodyguard and ran toward us. But he had no way of making it. But then he used a mind push and almost got there. We all jumped off the cliff. Except Callan. Grady had got him with his Mesmer ability. He squirmed but could not get loose. "Sophie, Kelly get back here right now!" Grady yelled. We had no choice but to leave him behind as we entered the void.
"God damn it!" I screamed. Everybody else had sullen looks. I inhaled and exhaled. "Ok where do we go now?" Asked Robin. We all thought for a moment. "Oh, I know!" Exclaimed Sophie. "Let's go to Tiergans.
No of us saw anything wrong with this so we left the void to go to Tiergans. Right when I was teleporting out, I thought I saw 3 figures enter, one wearing a brown cloak. But it was probably just my eyes playing tricks.
