Of course, I went into his room. There was paper everywhere, all of them were crumpled up. I grabbed one and flattened it out. It said:
That must have been one of his earlier ideas, because there were many things wrong with that plan. I looked through a lot of the plans, each one more careful then the next, but none of them involved his friends. Eventually, I got a message from Callan. Ryan's coming home. He transmitted. Ok. I transmitted back.
A few minutes later, Ryan stormed in. I rushed out of his room, but we saw each other on the stairs. "What were you doing?" He asked. "Um, my toilets broken... so I was using yours...," I lied. It was the worst lie I could think of, but it was also the only one. "Your such a bad liar." He said pushing past me. "Come on Ryan you have to let us help." I ran after him.
He turned around. "Fine. I'll give you 24 hours to come up with a plan with everyone else, but if you don't, in going alone." I nodded. Then Callan transmitted to me again. Ow, ow, ow, he burned my injured arm! He told me. I sighed in my head, then told Ryan, "stop bullying Callan."
I called everyone over and after about 10 min, the squad was assembled. I could see that Ryan had in fact burnt Callans injury, and his arm lay limp by his side.
I stood up. "So, most of you know why your here, but in case you don't know, The Neverseen have Ryan's family. Ryan gave us 24 hours to come up with a plan, or else he's going alone."
Just then, Ryan rushed in. "Just in case you need this information, they are being kept at Torrine." "Ok thanks Ryan," I said. "I can go research, if you'd like," Commented Sophia. "I'll come with you!" Luisa offered.
"Ok," I said. "Sophia and Luisa you go research on Torrine. Everyone else, we'll do... something." Sophia and Luisa went to do research on Torrine and we talked to Tam about the Neverseen. "They no longer have a Shade, so we don't have to worry about that," he said.
"Hey wait, isn't Callan here a Shade?" He asked. Callan nodded. "I've been working on something," he told Tam. He gathered Shadowflux-which earned a gasp from Tam-but then he did something even cooler. He shaped it into a bat! It flew around Tam and exploded in midair. Everybody was amazed. Callan looked proud, yet barely able to sit up.
24 Hours later cuz we're all lazy(yes everyone)(and yes we all went to Foxfire and did our classes and stuff, #timeskips)
"Ok, what's your plan?" Ryan asked. "Also Where's Callan?" I pointed at the ceiling where Callan was levitating upside down. After almost 12 hours of sitting still and planning he couldn't do it anymore. "So, our plan involves you, Callan, and Linh launching a frontal assault on Torrine as a distraction." "All of us have destructive or damage abilities," noted Ryan. I nodded and continued.
"After a bunch of research we discovered that there's a secret way in. Tam will lead us through since he knows more about the current Neverseen than any of us. We'll get in with your Pyrokinetic powers, since that's the only way through, and then we'll be in Torrine. At that point we'll find a member of the Neverseen, take them hostage, and Sophit - I mean Sophie and Fitz will check their mind to see where your family is."
I stopped to take a breath. "Biana and all our empaths will act as supports, by checking for emotions of hostility and Biana with her vanishing... is self-explanatory. There's an opening in the roof in one room, that Callan, Linh and you will come through so you can come in without Tam. You guys will shoot up a flare if A. Your captured or B. Can't make it at the moment and then we'll meet later and Callan will sense you with his telepathy powers. Once we locate your parents, we'll get them out, then you'll burn the fort down. If you see any members of the Neverseen, use your abilities, skills etc. to get past them."
Ryan considered this. "Sounds good," he said finally. We could all breath again. "Now, comes the hard part," said Callan. He was spinning in circles in the air, but he stopped and said: "We need to convince the grownups."
We decided Biana would approach Alden about it since if he said no, Biana could either escape and if she couldn't she wasn't a really big part of our plan. We all hid behind a corner and watched Biana talk to Alden. We all heard our breath as Alden paused... and nodded his head yes. Queue collective exhale.
Biana motioned for us to come over. We were all dressed in our brown cloaks and black attire. "I'm impressed you managed to come up with such a plan," said Alden. We shrugged. Then Alden said something we didn't expect. "If your going to go, go right now." "Huh?" I asked, thinking I heard him wrong. "You need to go right now," he repeated. "Before I change my mind."
We looked at each other and nodded. Then we ran outside and jumped off the cliff. Now was our time. We are gonna get Ryan's parents back. And we wouldn't lose.
