When someone says no
Do you take it as a yes?
A, please do what you're doing?
A, please continue to hurt me?
Cause if that's how you think
Then I ask you to think again

I know a girl
Who tried to decline
Who screamed for help
As he pressed himself to her
Expecting kisses
Getting angry when she turned away
He tried to persuade her
With gifts and small little things
Hoping she would come around
And give him his release
One night
She wasnt enough for him
So he made her turn around
And he pressed himself against her
She called out
Even when being scolded
And being hit
How dare she call out in pain
When she was being forced
To please him
How dare she cry
Cause he wanted to thrust inside
She tried once more to call out
He smacked her and released
Told her to leave
When she did
She went to her room and cried
She cried and held herself
She thought it was her fault
That he forced himself on her
That she shouldnt have made him angry
She said no
And he continued anyways
That poor girl
Didnt know that it wasnt her fault
That the man who did that
Was some fucked up fucker
Who thinks
A woman is there to please him
Whether they want to or not
She didnt learn that lesson
Until she was much older
She faced this aggressor
For 8 years
And kept that secret for 13 years
Afraid of what people would think
If she ever told them the truth
Even though she said no

I implore you... please dont let the small signs go unnoticed. Dont let their silent screams for help go unseen. You never know who could be facing such dark moments, afraid to talk in fear of their captor. Afraid to date because they fear that itll be the same thing. Afraid to love because of what happened.

If you have faced this... you know who you are. You are a survivor. You are strong and beautiful. It's okay to be afraid, but please dont forget, not everyone is "them" who ever it may be. Females arent the only ones to face this so stand up for your guy friends too. No one should be abused like this and live their life thinking it was ever okay on any level.
