We all sat silently in the cafeteria, eating the oatmeal in front of us. Our minds were still held up on the events that had happened the day before. We had lost three people in a matter of minutes. Lori, T-dog, and Carol. I heard the baby's cooing and looked down at my arms, seeing her bright brown eyes looking up at me. I smiled, grabbing her tiny hand. Daryl lightly laughed next to me and ate his oatmeal.

" Everyone okay ?" I heard and looked up, seeing my father open the gate from the tombs. He looked better since the last time I had seen him, but I couldn't help the reaction of holding the baby closer to me.

" Yeah, we are," I said, watching my father walk in the cell block, not looking at the newborn baby in my arms. She was quiet, unfazed by her father, who hasn't even looked at her yet." What about you ?"

" I cleared out the boiler block."

" How many were there ?"

" I don't know. A dozen, two dozen." Dad said, and everyone thought to themselves on how crazy it seemed." I have to get back, just wanted to check on Carl."

Dad patted his son's back and started to leave, but Glenn got up calling out to the leader." Rick, we can handle taking out the bodies. Okay, you don't have to."

" No, I do," Dad said and walked over to Daryl, Oscar, and I by the stairs. The baby cooed, but he only stared at Daryl." Everyone have a gun and a knife ?"

" Yeah. We're running low on ammo, though."

" Maggie and I were planning on making a run this afternoon. Found a phone book with some places we can hit, look for bullets and formula."

Daryl nodded, looking over." Kayla and I cleared out the generator room. Axel's there trying to fix it in case of emergency. We're gonna sweep the lower levels as well."

" Good. Good." Dad said, while the sound of his heavy feet walked towards the cells. He didn't look back. Didn't say he'll be back or again look at his children before closing the cold bars.

" Rick," Hershel called out, but he was gone for them to stop him. E

veryone looked to Carl, and I seeing the sadness roam our eyes. I understood how much my Dad was hurting, but it didn't mean this baby should pay the price.

" We should get going," Glenn said and signaled Maggie to come with him. The young farmer smiled and grabbed her holster from the table.

" You guys, be careful." I called." Be back soon."

Maggie nodded." You got it. Take care of that baby."

" You know, I will," I said, smiling to the little baby in my arms, falling slowly to sleep. After Glenn and Maggie left, Hershel and Beth discussed farming, leaving Carl, Daryl, and I in the cafeteria still.

" Kayla, what do you think we should name the baby ?" Carl asked, placing his dish in the sink and walking over.

" Mom said if it was a boy, she wanted to name it Jake. Maybe we should stay in the J names for girls." I said, seeing Carl nodded his head.

" How about Josie ?"

" No, I don't think that's a good enough name for her," I said, seeing Carl went back to thinking. I thought myself and looked back up." How about Jamie ?"

" Reminds me of a boy's name." Daryl said before pointing to Carl." How bout Juliet ?"

" Okay, Romeo." I teased, seeing I made Carl laugh.
