" You can't just leave."

Despite the three women behind me, I continued to walk with a bag on my back knowing I needed a horse in order to get around. I knew how it sounded. A pregnant woman riding a horse in the middle of an apocalypse to stop her brother from entering a dangerous place. That didn't matter to me right now. Carl did. My little brother, who had a knack of doing things when he wasn't suppose to.

" Maggie, I have to." I argued seeing the horses tied at the edge of the hilltop." I have to warn my parents what Carl is doing."

" It's too risky." Sasha added." Kayla, if they see you, worse things will happen. You're putting yourself at too high of a risk."

" If roles were reverse and this was Tyreese, would you go?" I asked knowing deep down, it was wrong to bring up our fallen friend.

She stared at me, before slowly nodding," You know I would."

" So then you know why I have to save Carl." I stated using the wooden step stool near the horse and climbed on carefully feeling my swollen stomach almost hold me down.

" Kayla, I'm sorry." Enid apologized." I should of stopped him."

I chuckled," Stopping a Grimes is impossible."

" You're telling me." Sasha snickered

" I'm coming with you." Maggie volunteered, but I shook my head.

" You said it before, the Hilltop needs you."

" Than I'll come." Sasha volunteered next.

" Maggie needs you." I pointed out." I can do this."

" Here." Maggie said pulling her hand-gun from her back pocket." You need the extra help."

I took it from her hand and into my own belt buckle securing it so it wouldn't fall out during the journey. Looking back at them, they all shared the same look of concern, but I had to do this for my family.

" I'll try to make it back quickly to help your nerves."

Maggie nodded," Please be careful on this thing."

" It's not Nervous Nelly." I joked grabbing the harness on the horse and whipping it to start.

The horse understood beginning to trot towards the gates ready for me to go. I looked back at Sasha and Maggie one last time, the worry on their faces made me queasy. With the gates opened, I whipped the harness one final time causing the horse to gallop through the field towards our destination. I checked the map before I had left. I decided to use the woods for my advantage knowing the roads would have more saviors looting other places they claimed to own. My mind raced at the possibilities of my brother.

I knew he was reckless and as brave as I am, but doing this would of caused me to have a heart attack. If I wasn't in the state I was right now, I would of went to Negan myself to get him and Daryl back as dangerous as it might sound. I don't know how much time had passed. I was too busy in my head and holding my belly to care until the familiar gates of Alexandria came to view. My lip quivered at the sight of my home. It had been far too long. Pushing my emotions to the side, I whipped the harness lightly causing the horse to trot forward.

" Open the Gates!" I shouted noticing one of the members of Alexandria poke their head out from hiding." Open the gates!"

The man nodded his head racing down from his post before I noticed his shadow by the gates. He pulled on the first handle exposing Alexandria true form before pulling the gate open allowing me in. The sound of the gates had multiple members come out of their house afraid. My eyes glanced around until I noticed the familiar green eyes that looked like my own.
