" Kayla...Kayla !" I heard and woke up to see my Mom with a smile on her lips." Hey, honey, time to get up."

" Okay." I groaned and get dressed in my clothes.

I really didn't understand why I still had to get up so early. It's not like I was gonna wake up to hot pancakes and another episode on Tv about a show. I exit the tent and see Carl and Sophia coloring and talking about something.

" Hey, are you guys hungry ?"

They nod, and I got the instant cereal making it for them. I handed it to Carl and Sophia, seeing the bright smile while they ate it up.

" Carl, when you're done, I have to cut your hair." Mom said to Carl, making him groan.

" Yeah, your hair looks like a wolf," I said. Carl stuck his tongue out playfully, and we laughed.

" Dale, Shane. Anyone there ?" I heard on the radio and got up.

" Hello. T-dog come in." Dale said on the radio, it went silent.

" You should be wearing real clothes." I heard and turn seeing Shane behind me.

" Funny. That's what Dixon said last night."

" Why were you with Dixon at night in the woods? Should I be a concern ?"

" What we're you doing with my Mom?"I asked, walking away, but I knew I had made him upset.

He marched away, mad, and Mom glared at Shane while following him into the woods. I walked over to the RV, looking up.

"Hey, Dale, you need help up there ?"

" No, sweetie, but thank you." He said with a sweet smile. I started to walk our and saw Mom had returned from the woods and gave Carl a haircut while Shane sat nearby.

" Baby, the more you fidget, the longer it takes. So don't. " Mom said while I sat in a camping chair.

" I'm trying." He said, fidgeting some more.

" Well, try harder." Mom said, smiling at me.

" If you think this is bad, wait till you start shaving. That stings. That day comes, you'll be wishing for one of your mama's haircuts." Shane said, and I laughed.

" I'll believe that when I see it," Carl said, and we laugh.

" I'll tell you what, you just get through this with some manly dignity, and tomorrow I'll teach you something special. I will teach you to catch frogs."

" Really ?"

I smiled." I caught a frog before. Shane taught me when I was your age."

" I said frogs, Plural, and it is an art, my friend, it is not to be taken lightly. There are ways and means few people know about it. I'm willing to share my secrets." Shane said, looking at Carl. Carl smiled but looked at Mom.

" Oh, I'm a girl. You talk to him. " Mom said, and I smiled.

" It's a one time offer, but not to be repeated. " Shane said, licking his gun cleaner.

" Why do we need frogs, plural ?"

" You ever eat frogs legs," Shane said, smiling.

" Ew !" Carl and I said, hearing Shane laugh.

" No, yum." He said, smiling and I laughed.

" No, they're right, ewe." Mom said, cringing at the idea while I nodded.
