"You shouldn't be eating that shit" Tara comments from her side of the table as she forks another piece of lettuce into her mouth.

I roll my eyes, taking an exaggerated bite of my big, juicy burger. It tastes better than it looks. "Not if you want to fit into your dress"

"I don't have a dress, therefore, it's better I eat this stuff now before I do have a dress then I'll get a dress that fits me, rather than the other way round" I smile chewing obnoxiously loud just to annoy her.

"I hate it when you do that."

I grin. "I know but you still love me"

Shopping was fun, Tara had bought a new skirt and crop for my engagement party, it still feels really strange saying that, and I had bought several pairs of shoes.

I can't help it, I have an obsession.

Devon was visiting his grandma at the hospice. We've kind of made a pact that if ever the other couldn't go, he would visit my dad as well as his gran, or if I went, I would visit Betty and my dad. She's a lovely old lady, very abrupt and straight forward, but lovely none the less. A broad Scottish accent and sparkling eyes greet you when she speaks, even though the majority of the time, even she doesn't have a clue what she's talking about.

The little diner we're sitting in reminds me of our trips to Paris, Hunter and I have been twice in the last couple of years, the first, a couple of weeks after he got shot and the second, was a few months ago.

The decor is red and white with black accents. Candelabra's hang from the walls and ceiling and the lighting is bright. It looks quite upscale considering we're in a tiny town, but it's beautiful and warmly inviting.

It brings back so many memories of the hotel we stayed in the second time around.

"Hello, earth to Emily" Tara waves her hand in front of my face and I snap out of my daze. "Where did you go?"

I sigh happily. "Paris"

Tara rolls her eyes. "Yes, we all know how amazing Paris is. Hey, maybe that can be the theme of your wedding?"

"Maybe," I say dreamily imagining waking up with Hunter and watching the sunrise over the romantic city.

"Or maybe you could get married in Paris?" Tara suggests. As much as I love that idea, trust me I've thought of it before, It's just not a possibility. Getting everyone to Paris, including my dad just isn't an option.

"I want to get married here," I tell her as she forks some chicken. "I want my dad to walk me down the aisle."

I can't imagine anyone else for the job. My dad is my life. Even though nine times out of ten he doesn't even remember me, I'll always be daddy's little princess.

"Fair enough," she says understandably, "but at least give me something to work with here, like how many miles outside of this shitty little town you're willing to travel to find the perfect venue?"

"I don't know Tara, I really haven't thought about it." I shrug "Ten miles?"

"Give me fifty?" Tara purses her lips together looking insulted at my offer and it makes me smile.

"Fine" I respond. Fifty miles isn't that far, but far enough to give her some more options.

"Have you decided when you want to go dress shopping?"

"Can we not talk about that just yet?" I say, of course, I'm going to have to think about it eventually but too much at once will just stress me out. "Let's discuss the engagement party," I say changing the subject. "Can you help me?"
