Emily's P.O.V
"Where the fuck were you?" I screech at him as he stumbles through the door. He's absolutely wasted and I can smell the alcohol radiating off of him in waves.
Hunters response is a small chuckle. "I can't find the floor Em," He says and I frown at him.
"You're lying on it," I tell him. "You're a mess, what happened?"
He's been gone for almost two days. Calls and texts went unanswered, the only reason I knew he was safe is because he text Devon to say he had to get away for a couple of days.
The pang of pain in my chest has been relentless since I found out he had confided in Devon rather than me, but I would rather him speak to someone, anyone than to no one at all.
Hunter attempts to get up but falls flat on his face, knocking over my favourite lamp in the process. I'd be surprised if he doesn't have a bruise tomorrow. "It's the middle of the afternoon Hunter."
"I need sleep" He slurs. "Will you come lie down with me? I don't want to be alone."
His voice sounds so defeated and sad, he makes it very difficult to be angry at him.
"Come on, " I say, attempting to pull him up from the floor. He's too heavy though and he just falls back onto his ass. "I'm gonna need a little help here please," I tell him.
He crawls over to the sofa and manages to pull himself up, he kicks off his shoes, one barely missing the T.V.
"Come on, let's go to bed," I suggest. I wouldn't be surprised if he sleeps through into the morning. He looks exhausted.
He shrugs at his jacket and I smile, he's so adorable when he's drunk. I help him remove his jacket and he eyes me with a small grin. "Don't get any sexy ideas Emily Carter," he warns playfully and I roll my eyes.
"You wish" I shove his arm and he chuckles. He looks so carefree.
I help him stand up from the sofa and take him into he bedroom, he plops down onto the bed and I remove his jeans, pulling back the comforter, he climbs in, sitting upright. "Are you staying?" his words are slurred and he's swaying back and forth slightly.
"Only if you promise to go straight to sleep."
He lies down when I say that and snuggles under the big fluffy duvet. "I promise," he says with a yawn. "The room is spinning, tell it to stop"
I laugh at him as I climb in beside him. He pulls me to his chest immediately, he smells like a brewery, its so foreign. "I need you, Emily, don't ever leave me please."
My heart melts at his words, we still haven't completely made up after our argument on Tuesday night, now it's Saturday again and I feel like he's slipping away from me.
The last couple of days have been awful, not knowing where he was or why? It's the longest I've gone without speaking to him in years.
I am grateful my mother hasn't popped up again though. Hopefully, she took the hint and fucked off back to where ever she's been hiding for the last three and a half years.
"Go to sleep Hunter, I'm not going anywhere" I trail my hand over his face and his eyes fall closed. "I love you, we can talk tomorrow."
"I love you" He mumbles just before I hear a small snore leave his mouth. I smile. I knew it wouldn't take long for him to pass out but I didn't think it would be that easy.
I stand from the bed and retrieve a bucket if he's going to be sick, I'd rather him not do it on the floor.
Next, I go to the kitchen and get him a glass of water and two Tylenol, he's going to have one hell of a hangover in the morning, which he's definitely not used to. He very rarely drinks alcohol and when he does it's never this much.
