Hunters P.O.V

I watch Emily as she does some ridiculous dance and laughs, she's got no rhythm at all and the entire scene is hilarious.

I seriously can't believe my luck, or how dramatically my mood has changed in the last hour.

I was so pissed that Dec was making me come to some stupid hotel when all I wanted to do was go back to that dingy apartment and think about how much I miss Emily and home.

Now though, she's here and my day has gotten better tenfold.

I admire the room slowly, taking in all the little details, I'm impressed with absolutely everything, even the fact I had zero idea that everyone was planning this behind my back.

If I didn't know any better, I would say Emily went a little overboard with balloons but I'm well aware that would have been my sisters doing.

"Congrats gorgeous" The familiar feminine voice floats to my ears from behind me just as I'm taking a drink from my beer.

I almost choke but I compose myself before turning around to the entranceway. Jessica and Jim stand there, each looking extremely pleased with themselves. "Surprised?" Jim asks handing me an envelope before hugging me.

"How are you two here?" Tonight is just one surprise after another.

"You're fiance called the school and spoke to me on Tuesday." Jess confirms as she hugs me "She didn't even know who she was looking for but she was very adamant she wanted some of your friends from work here so I told her that you're anti-social at work and have no friends." She grins and I roll my eyes as she continues. "But I told her that I would be here and bring Jimbo along."

"I'm glad you're both here," I tell them honestly. I like both of them. I don't think we're close enough to warrant an invite to the wedding but the engagement party is a lot more casual and I would love Emily to meet the people I spend most of my time around.

"Where is the future Mrs Evans?" Jim asks scanning the room.

I glance around and spot her immediately, she stands out no matter where she is or how many people are around her.

She looks stunning in her knee-length gold dress that clings to her gorgeous curves. Her hair is pulled up revealing the slim, creamy skin of her neck.

"There's my girl" I find myself smiling as I point her out. "Em!" I shout over the music, loud enough that I know she'll hear me.

She turns instantly, before rushing over to us, a champagne flute in hand. I kiss her in greeting. "Hi," She says when she pulls away.

"Hi" I return wrapping my arm around her waist. "I wanted to introduce you to some people," I tell her as I hold her, she's like a prize that I can't wait to show off. My beautiful, crazy, loving girl. "This is Jim and Jess from work."

She smiles, the smile I know is reserved for first meetings, it's bright but shy and timid, welcoming but wary.

"This is Emily" I smile proudly as I introduce her.

"Lovely to meet you, dear. Hunter is a very lucky man" Jim says kissing the back of her hand.

Her cheeks flush slightly "Thank you. I've heard a lot about you. I'm glad you're keeping Hunter in check"

She places her left hand on my chest, which feels incredible but I'm almost certain she only does it to flash her diamond ring to the girl in front of us.

Emily has never been territorial or possessive but she certainly gets jealous and right now she's staking her claim on me as she smiles politely at Jess.
