Emily's P.O.V

I wake up to the sound of keys jingling in the door. I glance at the small clock on my nightstand, squinting my tired eyes to see it properly. It's still early but I've barely slept.

Tara is laying beside me, softly snoring. Lucky bitch.

I hear the shower start-up and I'm a little peeved that he didn't come in to see me. Yesterday shouldn't have gone as it did, Hunter has to leave for work again today and I don't want him to leave while we're still fighting.

I sit up in bed slightly and wait for him to finish his shower. After a couple of minutes picking at a thread on the comforter and thinking about how my mother loves to screw everything up, I decide to get ready for the day.

As I get up from the bed, Tara stirrs, wiping at her eyes. I'll never know how she manages to look so perfect first thing on a morning.

"Morning"

"Morning" I say in response with a small smile of appreciation.

I'm grateful she came over last night, she always does when Hunter and I fight. He stays at her place for the night and she comes to stay here, it's a welcomed distraction.

It's the same when Tara and Devon fight. I'm glad he and Hunter get along so well. I remember a point when Hunter couldn't stand him.

It's only seven in the morning by the time Hunter comes into the bedroom, a towel wrapped around his waist and water dripping down his chest.

At first, he doesn't say anything. He completely ignores me and his sister as he walks to the drawers to retrieve his stuff.

He walks back to the bathroom to get dressed and Tara climbs off the bed, I sigh as I hear the door click shut. I know I've got some major making up to do. Hunter is as stubborn as Tara is, so it's not going to be easy.

"I should go," Tara tells me as she slips into her flats.

"Thanks for coming over Tara, I really appreciate it."

"I know, I'm amazing" She smiles and a small chuckle leaves my lips. "Call me if you need anything." She says.

I nod but don't verbally respond. She gives me a quick hug and calls out a goodbye to her brother who replies monotone. He's still upset, that's as clear as day, I just don't know what to do about it.

I was awful to him, he was only trying to help, though at the time it felt like he was taking my moms side and I didn't like that, so I got defensive.

Hunter enters the bedroom again a couple of minutes later, only in his black boxers, he looks so hot, his hair still damp and muscles rippling as he walks.

I realise I'm gawking and swallow the saliva that's collected in my mouth. "Are you done being a bitch now?" He surprises me by asking.

"Yes," I confirm walking toward him, when I reach him, his eyes are focused on the floor. I bend down slightly in an attempt to catch his eye and make him look at me. "I'm sorry," I say slipping my arms around him.

Hunter nods but escapes from my arms, pushing me away gently and continues to get dressed.

I feel so cold, rejected. It's a horrible feeling.

"Hunter" I bite my lip nervously, "Please talk to me"

"I am" He shrugs, hes being so cold, so unlike Hunter.

I watch as he moves from one side of the room to the other, his silence is irritating me, I just want everything to be right between us again.

"Can you stop for two minutes and talk to me?" I snap. Hunters eyes shoot up to me and he freezes as I take a deep breath. "I didn't like you defending her" I admit and I feel hot tears stinging my eyes but I don't let them fall, I swipe them away with the back of my hand.
