Chapter Five

Lynn's POV

The other five kids noticed a few seconds later and started panicking.

"Okay everyone disperse and try to escape, they'll have the power dampening for our old powers not our new ones since we left." I said

"Lizzie will still have her telekinesis and Liam's invisibility will still work slightly." I told them.

Everyone ran in their separate directions and my speed wasn't working of course.

I saw some guards exit the helicopter and start looking for us. Luckily for us they didn't know we had been developing our powers beyond what they remember. I listened for them and heard what the kids were doing and what the guards were saying.

"Which two do we have to get?" I heard a guard ask somebody.

"We have to get the oldest Lynn, and the eight year old named Eliza." The other guard replied.

I started to panic, they were looking only for us but why I wonder. I get Lizzie since she is one of the more powerful people. Maybe they wanted me since I was the child of the creators of The Dome.

I tried to run from one hiding spot to another but a guard spotted me. They didn't see who I was but that didn't stop them. I was not used to running without my speed. I use a little of it but this guard was very fast. Another guard ambushed me and put the power dampening handcuffs on and brought me to the helicopter. I saw them grab Lizzie and she joined me in the helicopter. They didn't try to go after the other kids which is good for them.

They gave us something that knocked us out and once I awoke I was in the lab once again. I never imagined I would make it back here alive at least. I heard someone's shoes on the floor and tried to turn around, but realized I was tied to a chair. The person then came around the corner and I saw my mom. Joyce Fikal. I know what you're thinking how is her last name Fikal and mine is Bren. Maybe you're not thinking that but let me explain anyways. I made up my own last name and all the other kids took it as well.

"Hello Mother" I told her coldly.

"Hello Lynn, I bet you're wondering why we only took you and Eliza." She returned with the same coldness.

"Her name is Lizzie now and yes I was wondering that you could have gotten all of us, why just us two?" I said

"Okay I'll keep that in mind. We only took you because you are my daughter and the reason we took Lizzie is because she is extremely powerful and we believe she will develop even more powers in the future." She told me.

"You don't care that I'm your daughter, so why did you really want me?" I asked her trying to match her coldness.

"I do care about you, but you are right we took you because you're also quite powerful. Since you were the first successful attempt, you have many extra powers due to not knowing exactly gives you your powers." She said harshly.

"What are you going to do to me?" I asked.

"You will train like you used to and help your father and I." she told me.

"What will I help you with?" I asked her nervously.

"You will find out soon, now rest you'll need it for training you haven't done it in a while." She said as she walked away.

I watched her walk away and fell into a deep sleep from exhaustion.

Jason POV

I saw Lynn get taken by those Dome guys and so did Lizzie. The other kids and I managed to make it home safely. It didn't seem like they were after the rest of us, since they left after getting Lynn and Lizzie. I'm the temporary person in charge since I am still the oldest among all of us. Paige is devastated about Lizzie missing.
