Jason POV

I heard a loud bang come from inside and it sounded like a gunshot. I raced inside and the kids followed behind me. The guards were no match for us and we blew right through them.

I got startled when I heard the loudest scream come from inside. I knew it was Lynn and went even faster.

But when I got into the room, I saw a horrific scene. Lynn's mother was holding a gun and it was aimed at Liam.

Nobody seemed to be moving besides Lynn who seemed just as confused as me.

Ava and Paige had followed me in. Ava saw the scene and started to cry.

Lynn walked up and took the bullet out of mid-air. After, the world seemed to resume itself.

"Lynn what just happened?" I asked

"I think I can control time" she muttered

"How is that possible?" I asked

"I don't know it just happened when she shot Liam" she said her voice cracking

Her parents seemed scared of her now. She was now one of the most powerful people in the world and she's furious. Her normally yellow-orange eyes turned a dark shade of red and she knocked out her parents.

Ava went over to check on Liam and he was okay. Lynn stopped time before the bullet before it hit him.

I went over to make sure Lynn was alright. She seemed freaked out. She did just find out she can control time. This would take a lot of time to get used to but we would overcome it and I knew it.

"Where is Lizzie?" I asked

"I don't know. Go and find her, I need to have a chat with her" Lynn said

Something was wrong with Lizzie or maybe it was Lynn I had no idea anymore. I just knew I had to find Lizzie and quickly. With us here, everyone would be freaking out right now.

They would also be leaving to another facility because they view us as monsters when they should be looking in the mirror.

I set off to try and find Lizzie and a few minutes later I recognized the eight year-olds bright red hair in the crowd. I pushed through everyone and was soon right next to her.

She seemed different and maybe she was too far gone but I wasn't about to give up on my sister.

"What are you doing here?" Lizzie asked pleadingly

"Trying to find you." I replied

"Why didn't you just forget about me?" she asked

"I would never forget about you because we're family and we stick together" I said

She seemed excited now and back to her normal self. I thought it would've been much harder to get through to her but maybe she was never really gone in the first place.

If she thought we had forgotten about her maybe that's how The Fikals tried to get her to their side. I was just happy that this mess was finally over and we could get back to our normal lives.

I walked her over to where everyone else was. They all enveloped her in a hug and didn't let go for a couple minutes. We were all grateful to have everyone together but now we had to decide what happens to the Fikals.

We couldn't tell anyone what they had done because it would expose us in the progress. Then even more people would be after us.

We went to check on the Fikals and they were gone. Lynn screamed and I could tell she was angry. I tried to comfort her but nothing seemed to work. As a last result, before she ended up destroying something, I kissed her. I don't know what came over me, maybe it was feelings that I've had for a while now and was too scared to act upon.

She calmed down and continued to kiss me. She let go when the kids were making kissing noises and laughing at us.

"That was something I never wanted to see" I heard Ava say

"What was that for?" Lynn asked

"You were about to destroy everything and I've felt this way for a while" I said nervously. She probably didn't think of me that way.

"I think I've felt that way too" she muttered

I was stunned. We didn't talk about it but instead rounded up all the kids and explained what would happen now.

"We're going to go back home and find out a way to stop them for good" Lynn said

I could tell she was mad, mainly at herself, for letting her parents escape. Now that they know she can control time, they'll be coming after us even more now.

The Fikals are obsessed with power and will do anything to obtain it, no matter who they hurt.

We went back to the house and ate dinner. Lizzie was quiet and it was expected. She hadn't seen us in months while thinking we forgot about her.

Lizzie and Paige seemed to connect once again. Life seemed normal again for a few weeks until we go a letter.

We never got mail and nobody, besides Naya, knew we lived here. Lynn opened the letter and read it to herself first. She wanted to make sure it wasn't just a prank, but the expression on her face told us it wasn't a prank.

She read it aloud.

"We will get you no matter what. You can't escape us even with your powers. We will always find you" she said. It was signed by her parents.

She looked enraged. I was terrified that she would do something weird with time again. She got control of her anger and continued to talk to the family.

"We will get through this. We always find a way to survive" she said

"Surviving isn't enough anymore. I loved going to school, even if it was boring, because I got to meet new people and have some fun" Ava chimed in

"I know, but when we get them off our backs, I'll see what I can do about the whole school situation." She said everyone was getting antsy and Lynn was trying to keep the situation under control.

I was glad I didn't have that much responsibility on me, but she handled it well for only being sixteen.

Eventually everyone calmed down and understood her concerns.

We went to bed since we were all exhausted from the stress of the letter. We decided we would no longer be on the defensive but instead the offensive.
