White

I drift constantly between states of consciousness and feeling nothing at all, floating in serene nothingness. In my fleeting moments of wakefulness, I gather that I'm in an unfamiliar room, though I know exactly where I am after squinting around for a bit. A wave of nostalgia hits me— I've been here more times than I'd like.

The colors—rather, the lack of them, give me a big hint.

Spotless white walls, white tiles, white bed covers. Oh, and that annoying nurse's uniform. That's bleached, too.

What is it with hospitals and that color?
