Kayla's POV

"Hey, Monica. Can I ask you something?" I asked Monica as we walked to our last class of the day on Thursday.

Monica nodded her head. "Yeah, sure. What's up?"

"Have you noticed Lilly acting weird lately?" I've been noticing Lilly's change in behaviour more and more and I couldn't ignore it any longer. I wanted to make sure I wasn't just reading too much into this whole situation.

I didn't know much about Lilly because we don't hang out as much. The only time we would hang together is when we have our study sessions. Otherwise from that, she doesn't really associate with me; with any of us for that matter.

At the beginning of first year, Monica and I became friends and it was her idea to start a study group where if you were interested you could join. Lilly, being one of the top students in the class decided to join. We haven't spoken before that, so I didn't know anything about her. I only knew that she was very competitive, took interest in her studies and she was smart. Even when we started studying together, it was hard to get to know her because she was very unpredictable. Sometimes she would be very friendly with us and other times, she was either complaining or giving off an attitude.

Those behaviours I was used to, but now it was different. Now, it seemed as if she was more distant and defensive. I also noticed that her cold shoulder was directed towards me and I wanted to know why.

At my previous question, Monica turned to look at me with her eyebrows pulled together in careful thought. She then shakd her head. "No more than the usual. What do you mean?"

I shrugged my shoulders a little. "I don't know. She is just always cold towards me and she doesn't really talk anymore. Also, it seems as if she's always finding a reason to argue with me." I related, then paused for a while before continuing. "There's just something about the ways she been acting and I get the idea that it's about me."

"I kinda do notice that she has been distant but that's just how Lilly is. She likes to spend time by herself and she likes doing her own thing." Monica answered. "Remember that one time she got angry at all of us because we all turned in our assignment before her. We didn't get what the big deal was but she was upset. You know, she gets like that sometimes."

"Yeah, I know but this seems different. As if I'd done something that I don't know about." I stated.

"Well, I don't know," Monica replied quietly as she thought about it. "Let's see. Give her some time, maybe she'll be herself again or maybe it's just a misunderstanding."

"Okay then. I hope you're right." I nodded my head in agreement just as we entered our lecture room.

After class, Monica and I walked to the dorms together. After reaching the dorms we split up because we were on different blocks. I continued my journey up the stairs to my room. I opened the door to see Jasmine on her bed watching a movie on her laptop.

"Hey, Jasmine." I greeted her as I entered our room.

"Hi. You're here." She said pausing the movie and looking at me.

"Yeah. What are you watching?" I asked as I put my bag on my bed.

"Bring it on." She replied.
