Kayla's POV

They were driving for a long time and more than an hour had passed when they finally stopped. I looked through the window to see a big, old building. It was noticeably painted grey even though it was stripping all over. The front door that was painted red was also peeling off. Some of the windows were broken and by its general look, it didn't look like a building that was being used.

I didn't have time to wonder why they were stopping here because both guys pulled their doors and came out. The one in the passenger seat opened the back door where I was and gestured to me. "Get out."

I stepped from the car and instantly, he grabbed my hand roughly. He then forced me to move and we walked towards the door. The other guy opened the door and we entered. The inside of the building was just as old and run-down as the outside but it wasn't dusty as expected. Leading me through the room we were currently in, they went through a few more hallways and doors before we reached a room with people inside. Quite a few people were in the room and they all turned when we entered.

I quickly scanned the room. The first thing I observed was that the room was clouded with smoke as most of the occupants were smoking. The next thing was that a few were gathered around sniffing drugs and playing cards. My eyes then shift towards a long desk in the room and my eyes grew wide when I recognized the person sitting behind it in a chair.

It was Oliver Ross.

He looked up from counting parcels of what looked like cocaine. "Welcome, Kayla. I've been waiting for you."

"What do you want with me?" I demanded getting to the point.

He laughed and stood up, walking towards me. "Let's just say you are just what I need to finally get to Carson. I notice things and I know how much you mean to him." I looked at him as the realization hits me. Noticing my look of horror, he smiled cruelly and continued. "I'm going to enjoy this."

"But why? What is it with you and Carson?" I asked.

He didn't answer me. He just indicated to the guy who had brought me in. "Ethan, take her to the room." When he said that, the guy who had driven the car grabbed my hand again and led me back through the door. He directed me towards the end of the corridor and stopped in front of a door. He opened it and shoved me inside and closed the door again.

Turning away from the closed door, I looked around the space. The room was empty except for a small bed in the corner and a chair. There were also no windows. I was surrounded by only walls. I walked towards the bed and sat down. At least the single white sheet on the bed was clean.

I could hear voices now and then in the hallway, but no one came to the room where I was. I stared at the peeling wallpaper while dreading the moment when Oliver will show up to carry out whatever he planned to do with me.

Jasmine's POV

It was now almost nine o'clock and Kayla hasn't returned to our dorm room as yet. This was unlike her, so I couldn't help but be worried. Yes, it was a possibility that she decided to spend the night at Carson's but whenever she does that, she would always text me to let me know. And at those times she would text me early. She would've also texted me if she decided to visit Lucas or Kevin.

I took up my phone again and checked it. No messages. This was definitely weird and I was starting to have a bad feeling. I then proceeded to ring her phone. However, it went straight to voicemail. I tried again and got the same result.

Why wouldn't she answer her phone?

Maybe I should call Carson to make sure. Maybe Kayla had forgotten to send me a text and I was just being paranoid. However, at the last minute, I made a different decision. I decided to go to Carson's instead. If my gut feeling was right and Kayla wasn't there, I need to tell Carson in person.

I picked up my phone again and called Eli. He picked up on the second ring. "Hi, babe." He answered.

"Eli, can you come here now? I need a ride to Carson's please." I replied immediately.

"Sure, what's up? Is everything okay?" He questioned picking up on the tone of my voice.

"I don't know. I'm not getting to Kayla and she is supposed to be at Carson's. It's probably nothing but she would always text me and she always has her phone at hand. I know it's stupid but I just want to make sure." I explained in a rush.

"No, it's not. I understand. I'll be over there soon, okay?"

"Thank you. You're the best." I said knowing that no matter the hour he was going to be there.

After he hang up, I changed quickly and in fifteen minutes Eli was here. We drove to Carson's apartment while I hope this was a misjudgment on my part. Deep down I was hoping Kayla will be there and we will just laugh about this whole situation.

I would be happy to be wrong then.

Carson's POV

I was sitting on the couch browsing through the television channel not really focusing on what I was doing when I heard a knock on my apartment door. I placed the remote on the table in front of me, got up and walked to the door.

When I opened it, I was surprised to see who was standing on the other side. I looked from Jasmine to Eli and back at Jasmine again in confusion. There was something about the way she looked that got me on edge. "Jasmine, what are you doing here?"

"Hey Carson, is Kayla here?" She asked.

"No, why would she be here?" I asked a bit confused.

Jasmine's eye went wide before she said. "Kayla was on her way here this afternoon. I left her around two o'clock. When she didn't come back to the dorms, I got worried. I just had a feeling something was wrong."

"Kayla was on her way here? No, she didn't come here." I confirmed before the reality of the situation and what she was implying started to sink in. "Wait...she hasn't come back to the dorms?" I asked feeling tension rising.

Jasmine shook her head and responded. "No."

"Try her phone again." Eli suggested.

She started to fidget with her phone as she clicked on the keypad. She then put the phone to her ear and listened. After a while, she looked at me and with a worried expression. "It went straight to voicemail again. Carson, I really think something has happened."

I'm having that same feeling and it wasn't sitting too well with me. This was unlike Kayla and the fact that she wasn't answering her phone sounded bad too. "Oh no." I said abruptly as it dawned on me.

"What is it?" Eli questioned.

"I think I know what happened." I answered as my mind started to work. "I'm sure Oliver Ross is behind this." I responded, feeling a mixture of emotions going through me at the thought of it. Fear and anger the dominant ones.

"What...what do you mean?" Jasmine asked her voice shaking.

"I think he took her."
