Kayla's POV

It was Friday, the day Jasmine and I were supposed to meet Kevin and Lucas at our usual cafe after our class. However, I had informed them that I was going to Carson's apartment after class, so they were going without me. It was a norm for us to meet up and I didn't want them to cancel because I won't be there.

When my last class ended, I noticed Jasmine outside my classroom waiting on me. We were planning on walking together as the cafe was in the same direction as the bus stop. I finished putting my books into my bag and left the classroom. Jasmine and I walked towards the college gates and turned right down the street.

We kept up conversation as we walked the short distance to the bus stop and we were there in less than two minutes. When we reached the bus stop, Jasmine and I stopped. "Well, good luck at Carson's," Jasmine said as she began to walk away to continue her journey.

"Thank you," I said, nodding my head. However, I was hesitant because there were so many thoughts running through my head at the prospect of going to Carson's. I was quite nervous to face him again after the things I said. Of course, Jasmine noticed this.

"You okay?" She asked stopping in her tracks.

I nodded and took a deep breath. "Yeah. I think so. I'm just a little nervous. I'm just wondering if Carson would want to see me." I related my worries to her. I know I wasn't thinking straight and I was probably being irrational but I couldn't help it.

Jasmine gave me a reassuring smile. "Don't worry, Kay. Knowing Carson, I know you won't have anything to worry about. He won't hold this against you. Hey, I bet he's waiting for you right now and soon this will just be a bad memory."

I nodded once again. "You're right, of course." I agreed, pulling myself together and taking another calming breath.

"Good. I'll see you later." Jasmine waved goodbye and walked off in the direction of the cafe. "I'll be waiting up for you to tell me everything."

I smiled. "Of course. See you." I waved at her, feeling much better. As a matter of fact, I was now anxious to see Carson. A smile touched my lips as I thought about him. I honestly didn't know what I was thinking because I know without a doubt that I would go through anything with him. It doesn't matter what, I'll stick by his side and support him. I know that now.

I was caught up with the thought of seeing Carson again, that I didn't notice that I was no longer alone at the bus stop. This was brought to my attention when I heard a sound behind me. I turned around towards the noise and came face to face with two guys who were looking at me. I didn't know who they were, all I knew was that I got a bad vibe from them.

"Hello, Kayla." One of them said casually. I furrowed my eyebrows in confusion wondering how he knew my name. I didn't have time to wonder about it for long because he continued. "We were waiting for you to be alone."

I took a step back. "Why?" I asked trying to keep my voice steady.

"Don't worry about that now. You'll figure everything out soon enough." He pointed to a black sedan parked near us. "Get in the car."

I looked at the car. I had noticed the car when I walked up with Jasmine but no one was in it. So where had these guys come from? Were they following Jasmine and I this whole time? The thought of that sent a cold shiver throughout my entire body. In horror, I looked back at them and shook my head. "No, I don't think so," I replied trying to act confident.

Without hesitating, the other guy, who was quiet this whole time, pulled back his leather jacket to reveal a gun stuck in the waist of his jeans pants. My eyes grew wide and I felt my breath catch in my throat. "That wasn't a question and I don't think you're in a position to disobey orders." He said in a cold, harsh tone which made it clear how serious this was. "Get in the car and don't be obvious about it." He demanded. I faltered in horror. These guys were the real deal and I'd be stupid to disobey.

I swallowed the lump that had formed in the back of my throat and stepped towards the car. Every step I took intensified the feeling of despair. I quickly glanced around in hopes that someone saw what was happening but I had no such luck. The few people who were on the street were far away and wasn't paying any attention to my direction. It was still early afternoon and the evening rush of travellers won't come until around 4 pm. I slowly opened the car door and got in the back seat. The two guys got in the front, started the car and drove away from the curb.

A few minutes into the journey when I was certain the guys' attention were in front of them, I reached inside my pocket and pulled out my cell phone. If I could send a quick message to my friends, at least they would know what happened to me and where I was being taken. As I was unlocking my phone, the one in the passenger seat turned around.

"Don't even think about it." He said reaching his hands towards me. "Hand me your phone."

I placed the phone in his awaiting palm with trembling fingers. He turned back around and I turned to face the window. I had no idea who these guys were and what they were planning on doing with me but I was really scared.

The fear started to fully set in as I noticed that I was no longer familiar with this street. Wherever they were taking me was far and the possibility of anyone knowing where I am was completely impossible.
