Carson's POV
This place that Oliver had told me about was an old abandoned building on a backstreet of New York. People rarely go on this side of town because of dangerous activities that takes place here. The building was not big but it was bigger than the place where I used to fight back home.
I also noticed that the crowd was twice as large as I squeezed my way through the crowded stadium. The place was full of people talking and shouting loudly. I continued to make my way to a room that was set up for fighters to change.
When I entered the room, I put my bag on a bench and changed as I only had fifteen minutes before I go on. When I was done changing, I sat down on the bench to wait. Suddenly, I heard the door opened and I turned around to see Oliver walking in. He noticed me and walked towards me.
"Well, I really didn't expect you to show." He remarked.
"If this is going to get you out of my life, then I want to get it over with."
He smirked. "Feeling confident, are we?" Not in the mood to have small talk with him, I ignored him. "If you think you're going to win, you're more stupid than I thought. There's no way you're going to beat me."
"I don't care one way or the other, but let me remind you that I've beaten you before." I reminded him.
"That was luck and no one is lucky twice." He said in a hard tone.
Finally, I looked up to face him. "What's your problem, Oliver? Why do you have a hard time letting this go?"
"Because I am unbeatable!" He roared. "I was on top and then you came along and humiliated me in front of my fans. No one can do that." His voice rose with anger with every note. "I have to get my honour back. I want a fair match to show everyone that I'm better than you."
Normally, I would care about winning because I wanted the money, but now all I want is for him to leave me alone and stay away from Kayla. Shaking my head at his behaviour, I stood up from the seat and took up my bag. "So tell me, if I win, would you finally admit that it wasn't luck and leave me alone? As you so no one can be lucky twice."
He roared with laughter. "You? Beat me?! That would never happen."
I narrowed my eyes at him and gave him a hard look. "Answer the question."
"If by chance you win in your little fantasy world, then yes, I would accept that you're good and leave you alone." He answered then gave a short, mocking laugh. "But don't count on it because that would never happen."
"Well then, may the best man win." I replied as I stepped around him and head in the direction of the auditorium, where the announcer will call us in the ring.

Kayla's POV
At around nine thirty, the party was still going on. A few people had already left, but most people were still here having a good time.
Even though it was a great evening, I just wasn't really feeling the party mood. My mind was fully focused on Carson's fight. I wanted to know how it turned out and how Carson was doing. I couldn't really focus on anything else.
Jasmine and I were currently sitting down drinking punch and talking. At this point, most students were dancing on the dancefloor. After a while of sitting here, Jasmine turned to face me. "I'm getting tired. Are you ready to go?"
I nodded my head. "Yeah, me too and plus I'm expecting a call from Carson. I want to be home when he calls."
Before Jasmine could respond, her phone rang and she got up to answer it away from the noise. A few minutes later, she came back smiling. "That was Eli. He's coming to pick us up. He's going to give you a ride to the dorm and we are going back to his apartment."
"That sounds good. Let's go then." I said getting up from the chair I was sitting on and walked with Jasmine to the parking lot to wait for Eli.
Five minutes later, Eli's car turned into the parking lot and stopped near us. I got in the back and Jasmine walked around to the front.
"Hey, Eli." I greeted him when I closed the door. "Thanks for dropping me at the dorms, even though it's only less than two minutes walk from here."
He smiled. "You don't have to thank me, Kayla. I don't mind at all and besides it's late, I'm not going to let you walk to the dorms by yourself." He said and I smiled at him in appreciation. By this time, Jasmine entered the car.
"Hi." She said then leaned over to kiss him on the cheek.
"Hi, babe." He returned her greeted with a smile, before putting the car into drive. When we all buckled our seatbelts, he drove away from the campus.
When Eli pulled up at the dorms, I stepped out and waved goodbye to him and Jasmine. I then went inside the building and walked to my block and then my room. I had a quick shower, got dressed for bed and lay on my bed awaiting Carson's phone call.
Even though I was tired, I couldn't sleep. I checked the time on my phone and saw that it was 10:30pm. My chest felt heavy wondering how his night turned out. There was no way, I'm going to sleep without hearing his voice.
Suddenly, my phone began to ring in my hands. I quickly checked the screen and released the breath that I was holding when I saw that it was Carson. Sitting up, I quickly answered the call.
"Hey, Carson. How did it go?" I asked when I answered.
"It went great. I won." He replied.
"Really?" I asked. I was happy that he won, but I was really worried about Oliver's reaction to that. "What did Oliver had to say about that?"
I could imagine him smiling. I know he must be relieved. "Yes Kitten, I did. He put up a really hard fight and it was really close, but in the end, I won. We don't have to worry about him anymore."
"He said that?" I asked surprised.
"Yeah. I didn't see him after the fight, but he did say that if I won, he'll admit that I've beaten him and let it go."
I closed my eyes and took a sigh of relief. When I opened them, I smiled widely. I was so happy to hear that. All I wanted was for Oliver to leave Carson alone and now it was happening. Everything can go back to normal now. "I'm so happy to hear that, Carson." I related.
"Me too. So how was the event?" He asked.
"It was a success. We made double than last year."
"That's great. Are you coming over tomorrow?"
"Of course," I replied. We talked for a few more minutes until I felt sleepy. I know that we both had a long day and was tired, so I said. "I'll see you tomorrow, okay?"
"I'll look forward to it. Sleep well." He replied.
"I will," I replied, smiling to myself before ending the call.
