Attack of the Fairies (#2 in the All That Jazz series)

chapter 1 - lovely life

I inhaled the sent of the flower in front of me. A daisy. They smelt so nice this time of year. This whole feild was full of them and I was planning on bringing some back home for my mother. She would love it if I brought her some daisies. They were her favorite flower.

I cut a few off from their stems and started the short journey back home. I smiled at the guards who opened the front gate for me. They were such nice people, I don't understand how so many people find them scary. Even the fearless Kim didn't like them. She is like my role model. I haven't seen her since I got my dragon egg but I will soon. My birthday is very soon and I can't wait. I send her letters sometimes, although I wonder how they get to her. She lives in a castle that floats above the Adlantic Ocean. I've seen pictures of it and Kim says one day I can live there too. I can't wait for that day!

I stepped into the empty kitchen and grabbed a small vase to put the flowers in. I filled it up with water before leaving the room pleased with myself. My mother is going to love this. It didn't take me long to get to her office. I don't know what she does in there. I always thought my dad had to do the paper work.

"Hello mother," I bowed to her polightly, "I brought you some flowers that I picked myself."

Her face lit up with excitement, "Oh my darling Jessica. You didn't have to do that." She took the vase and put it onto her desk. "So who all is coming for your big day?"

I smiled at sat down in another chair, "Just Desiree and Bethany. I know that Kim is coming too just like she promised and she is probably bringing the follwers."

She sighed, "No one else you want to bring?"

I shook my head, "Nope, I'm fine with just them."

She smiled, "Well then, let's finish the party planning, shall we?"

I nodded my head eggerly as she called in the planners. I couldn't believe this was finally happening. I was pretty disappointed when Kim told me about having to wait for the egg to hatch but she taught me that day that some things are better when you wait and that not everything can go the way you want it to. I've learned to respect the people and things around me and I'm not as greedy as I was before. I owe it to Kim because she changed my life greatly with just one apearance.

Yet I still wonder if her dragon, Kane, can blow fire. We never did find out if he could...

YAY!!! Chapter 1!!!! Haha that blowing fire thing has been a constant battle in my head weather they should be able to or not and I still have no clue is they should be able to. What do you think? Do you like this story so far? Does it sound good?

It's my birthday!!! Whoot!!! October 3rd. Well technically tomorrow... but I wanted to give this to you early :D
