As I left the hospital I headed back to my car. I got in and crunk up. As I drove out the parking deck I called Jalisha on my phone. I put the call through the car and put my phone on the stand.
I fastened my seatbelt and drove to her apartment. The phone rings about three times before she actually answers the phone. She must have known I was about to go off on her.
"Hello Mandy how are you? What do I owe this call?"
"Don't come at me with that slick ass shit. Why haven't I heard from you?"
"I've been busy that's all."
"Yeah busy doing what?"
"Just business. So what's up with you?" How's the hubby?"
"He's fine. But that's not what I'm calling for. Where are you?"
"I'm at my apartment."
"And why are you at the apartment? The only time you be there is when you have done some stupid ass shit and Alonzo put your ass out."
"Why I can't just be here for some peace and quiet time?"
"Cause you can do that at home. And I'm not stupid Jalisha. Now you can either tell me now or I can just call and ask Alonzo."
"Why you jumping down my case Mandy? This is not about nothing major. I told you I just needed some time alone."
Mandy cut the car off and got out. She knocked on the door. Jalisha didn't hear Mandy talking anymore. Mandy hung the phone up when she arrived there. Jalisha walked to the door.
"Who is it?"
Nobody said anything. Jalisha asked again. "Who is it?" Nothing was said. So she snatched the door open ready to snap and she saw it was Mandy.
"Omg Mandy." She said hugging her and jumping up and down.
"Why didn't you just say you was here?"
"Cause I needed to make a surprise visit to you. Now you wanna tell me what's going on in my face?" She said sitting down.
"Do you want some wine?" Jalisha asked as she poured her a glass.
"Yes I will take one."
Jalisha brougnt two glasses over and a bowl of popcorn. She sat it down on the counter and took a sip of her wine.
"So what's up?"
"Don't act like you don't know what's up. You know I already know what's going on right?"
"What are you talking about Mandy?"
"Jalisha why do you insist on playing me like a fool? I talked to Amira today. She told me what you was up to. How could you do this to your own daughter?"
"Do this to my own daughter? Don't you start this shit too. I'm trying to protect her from that no good of a husband. No one is seeing that he cheated on her and got someone else pregnant."
"And didn't you do the same damn thing on someone else husband? The last time I recalled you tore up someone else marriage."
"This is not about me Mandy. This is about my daughter who hates me for trying to protect her from hurt."
Mandy laughs and sighed.
"Now how in the hell can you protect her from something that you caused? Sometimes things do come back as reaping to you. But it comes through your kids. You basically reaping what you showed."
"And How is that? I don't see it like that. For years Alonzo put Melissa and that damn boy ahead of me and Amira. I took that for years and this is the thanks that I get."
"Put you where? He left his wife and married you. He broke his home and came to you. He took care of Amira and Kwan. And gave you the world. So what he was there for her until her death. You caused that trauma right along with him. Neither one of you was innocent."
"So you taking sides now? I thought you was my friend?"
"Jalisha I am your friend. And a friend tells you the truth. The shit that Amira told me you have need doing is straight up evil and fucking selfish. You are gonna loose everything you have all cause you still fighting over a dead woman ego."
"Wait don't you dare defend her. I have done all I can to get me where I am today. I worked hard. And I can't help that the heart loves who it loved."
"Jalisha, you went after a fucking married man. Now was that working for something hard?"
Jalisha threw her drink back and sat the glass on the table. She poured her another glass and starts drinking. She looked at Mandy and sighed.
"Mandy I don't need you coming here trying to judge me for something that I feel is right for my family."
"You call this sick ass shit right? I can't believe you. And to think I actually thought that Amira's story was stretched a little. I didn't want to accept that you would go as low to hurt your own damn daughter."
"And how am I hurting her?"
"Wow! You really fixed your damn mouth to ask me some stupid ass shit like that? I really don't know you anymore Jalisha."
Mandy stood up and grabbed her purse and keys.
"Where are you going?"
"I'm leaving. I can't stand to even be here with you with this mess. When you come to your senses call me then."
"So just like that you gonna take their side against me?"
"Sides? There's no sides but the right side. And that's me leaving here and not listening to your stupidness."
"Oh now you calling me stupid?"
"Stupid is what stupid does. So I guess your not just stupid your fucking stupid."
Mandy opened the door and slammed it closed. She walked back to her call and got in and left. As she drove she played back in her head what Amira told her.
She couldn't believe that Jalisha has went as far to do this to her own family. "And to think I was friends with her."
Mandy snapped!!!
