The Aftermath (Final Series of Deception)

Waking Kwan

Me and Auntie Mandy walked in the hospital and headed to Kwan's room. My daddy was already there with the kids. The twins has been asking for their daddy a lot.

We didn't want them to see him like this. So we kept them shielded. They have a daycare here at the hospital so when they do come that's where we take them.

Today Jackson is suppose to wake Kwan to see how he reacts so we can determine if he can go home and finish healing or not. I really want to take him home. I feel he will heal quicker and no one that I want to see him can't.

Jalisha and Zoe is beyond me right now and I don't want their nasty asses around my husband. All these years you would think my mama would be more understanding with him but she is not.

She still treats him so bad. And it's not his fault what she and my daddy did. He was innocent just like I was. Now he gets blamed for everything. And that is gonna stop. I'm tired of all the bickering that she does to him.

We walked in his room and Jackson was already in the room waiting on me. Once we got in my dad stood and hugged Aunt Mandy. Jackson walked over and did the same.

"Ok now that everyone is here are you ready to take the next steps to get him removed from the machines?"

"Yes I am. Let's get started with the process going and see what happens."

"Yes let's. I'm ready for my husband to come home now." Amira said rubbing her hands together.

Jackson started removing tubes from him. He put some medicine in his IV that is to reverse the process of him being under. As he removed the stuff they just waited.

After a while the machines started doing some noises and Kwan started breathing heavy. I looked at Jackson and started asking him questions.

"Is this suppose to happen like this?"

"It all depends sweetie. He can be adjusting to the medicine or he can be reacting to it. We won't know until it's finally done.

"I don't like this daddy do something."

"I can't baby this is all on Kwan."

Mandy rubs her back and says "stay calm baby talk to him. Go hold his hand and talk to him. Let him hear a familiar voice."

"Go baby girl. Listen to Mandy."

Amira walked over and grabbed his hand. She sat next to him and held his hand rubbing it with her thumb. A tear fell on his hand as she sat there.

"Come on baby. This is Amira. I love you and we need you to come on back. Come on wake up for me.
The twins been asking for you. They miss you. I mis you. This can't be the end for us."

Everyone stood back and listened to her talk to Kwan. The room got so heavy. Alonzo even felt tears building on his eyes. He cleared his throat and tried to hold back and be strong for Amira.

Unlike Mandy she was crying and praying at the same time. Mandy walked over and put her hand on Amira's shoulder as she continued to talk to Kwan.

"Baby I know things are messed up right now for us but I don't want you to die. Never was that my intentions for you. We can work through his. But you got to come back to me. Please Kwan."

As she continued to talk Kwan opens his eyes. Amira didn't see it cause her head was down and crying.

In a cracking voice Kwan said "Baby I ain't going no where and I love you too."

Amira jumped up and looked at Kwan. She leaned down and played kisses all over his face. She hugged him and cried hysterically. 

"Baby you are awake. Omg I missed you."

"I know baby. I heard everything you said. I just couldn't open my eyes."

"Damn son you scared the hell out of us here man. I'm glad you awake now."

"Sorry dad I was so upset that day. I wasn't thinking when I drove off like that. I'm sorry for putting y'all in that. This was scary to me man. I thought I was gonna die. All I wanted was to see you guys again." Kwan said with tears in his eyes.

"Well son we glad you made it back to us. Now we just need you to get better so you can get back to your family." Alonzo said.

Jackson walked over and took his vitals again. He wrote them down on his clipboard and looked at Amira.

"Listen if you want to take him home still and have the nurse come out I will allow it. And the only reason that I am is because he is doing well coming off this machines."

"Thank you Jackson. Please get me the paperwork so I can get it going as soon as possible please."

Jackson looked at Alonzo and gave him that look to follow him to his office. He looked at Amira and said "sure thing."

Alonzo followed Jackson to the office and closed the door.

"Have a seat Alonzo I need to talk to you."

Alonzo sat down and looked at Jackson weird. He didn't follow why they needed to talk again.

"What's up man? What we need to talk about?"

"Well this is the thing. Kwan is ok to go home but I really feel he should stay here at the hospital. I can grant the request but my personal opinion and professional opinion is that he stays here."

"And why do you say this?"

"Well just in case something major happens he's already here."

"But he's gonna have a RN there with him and you said you will make house visits. And I'm a doctor too you know."

"Yes I get that. But I feel that this is gonna be too much for Amira at this time. With the twins and all."

"What's really the issue here Jackson? I mean you said if he does well he can go home. So what's the deal now?" Alonzo said crossing his arms over his chest.

Jackson sat back in his chair and sighed heavy.

"Man its just that I feel that Zoe
Should have a visit with Kwan. I know it's not my place and I get that. But this is not the baby's fault here. And if this stresses her she can miscarriage."

"Are you serious right now? Amira don't give a damn about that. That's her husband. And if Kwan wants to deal with that after this, that's on him. This is not your decision to make man."

"I know I just don't want her to miscarriage."

Alonzo stood and shook his head. He walked to the door and walked out slamming the door behind him.

Is Jackson wrong????
