A/N Two updates in one day? I'm so happy!

2 weeks, conjuring, telekinesis, illusions, telepathy, clones, shapeshifting, and controlling my Jotun form. Still no teleportation.

He'd come back fuming mad about a week ago with a missing poster.

"The Avengers are looking for you." He seethed.

"That happens when you kidnap people!" I got put in my room until dinner was ready for that comment.

"I didn't want to take my anger out on you." He'd explained when I asked why he didn't hit me or something.

He was at least trying to be a good parent.

It was quite different from being raised by several people at once though. He walked in mid-thought.

"Hey, do you want to start on maintaining clones tomorrow? You can make them, but keeping them around can be harder." He explained.

"Sure," I said.

"Fantastic!" He exclaimed.

"Oh, also dinner's ready." He said, ducking back out.

What's your game? I wondered.

I rose and walked into the living room. Someone rapped on the door and motioned for me to go back into my room.

I rolled my eyes and stepped back.

An illusion covered him.

"Hello." He said cheerily.

"Have you seen this girl?" Tony's voice asked.

"No, I haven't. So sorry." He said, offering a smile.

I'm behind him. I thought to Tony.

"Please sir, she's missing. I'm worried sick." He tried again.

"No, I haven't. Lemme take a flyer though?" He said.

That's Loki. I tried again.

Loki went flying against the back wall with a repulsor blast.

Tony and Cap burst into the room.

"Astrid!" He exclaimed.

I smiled. "Suckers," I said.

"Hey, I figured it out. Didn't I?" He asked, pulling me behind him.

Loki looked up and guilt panged through me. Sure, there was murder in his eyes, but there were tears too.

"I'm not letting you take her." He said, voice cracking.

I wasn't sure if it was from emotion or hitting the wall.

"You took her, reindeer games. Not us." Tony snapped.

"Cap, get her down to Thor, I'll hold Loki off," Tony said.

"I'm not leaving." He said.

"If we send her alone he'll magic away and intercept her. At least if you go down there'll be another line of defence."

Cap took my hand and ran us down.

A shout sounded throughout the hall and the fighting started.

"This isn't going to work," I said.

"Why not?" Cap asked, opening the door to the stairs.

"He knows where I'm at and can track me," I said.

"Doesn't matter, we'll protect you and get him back in a cell. Tony fixed the power problem." Cap said.

"It wasn't a power failure. He teleported out. He came after me because he could feel my magic. He thought it might be his sceptre or something to get him out."
