Once life got back to normal, grandma visited again. Dad was thrilled to see her and practically sobbed when he saw her.
I was glad Odin hadn't visited.
At least he showed his true colours pretty quick. He was a major jerk, no doubt. I ran up to her and hugged her after dad was done.
"Hello, Älskling." She said happily.
"What does that mean?" I whispered.
"It means darling." She replied.
"Oh!" She nodded.
"Okay. You guys know that's word's origins mean favourite minion, right?" She nodded.
I laughed, "Oh boy. Hold on! I gotta show you my new armour." I double tapped my bracelet, and it came flying out and enveloped me.
Her eyes widened, and my faceplate went up.
"Tony made it!" I said.
He waved from behind his mini-bar. "Tada!" He said, doing jazz hands.
"He was in his lab for like a week. He's in trouble." I said, whispering the last part.
She nodded.
I double tapped the unibeam, and it turned into my backpack.
She nodded her approval. "Very well-engineered and functional."
I nodded happily. "He's good like that," I said happily.
The elevator dinged abruptly, and Director Fury stepped out.
"Does someone wanna tell me why Thanos is standing in central park!"
I turned slightly.
Dad's expression changed to a hateful glare at the mention of Thanos. Tony turned the news on.
"BRING ME THE AVENGERS, OR I WILL KILL YOUR PEOPLE BY THE DOZENS UNTIL I FIND THEM!" He shouted to the news copters.
"Geez," I muttered.
"He didn't say we have to bring Loki or the kid, so put them into hiding, and we all go get our butts kicked," Tony said.
"Maybe I can convince Odin to help," Grandma said.
"That'd be great, Thor's mom," Tony said.
She went outside, and the Bifrost took her into Asgard.
Aunt Hela abruptly appeared. "How would my favourite niece and brother like a tour of Hel?"
Uncle Thor made a pouty face. "I'm not your favourite?"
She shrugged and placed a hand on each of our shoulders.
"Let's wait until we see if Odin'll help. Otherwise, I'm staying, and you take Astrid." Dad said.
I looked up at him. "What if you get hurt?" I asked quietly.
"I won't Älskling. But they need help, and I brought him here the first time. I owe it to them both for that and for protecting you."
I stood on my toes and wrapped my arms around his neck. "Be careful, Dad." I pleaded.
"I will, I swear it, little one."
I held him tighter before he unwound my arms and handed one to Aunt Hela.
"If anything happens to her under your care, not your entire army of dead could protect you." He said sternly.
"She'll have the best care Hel has to offer. Cross my cold dead heart." She said, making an x.
Dad nodded, and we stepped back.
"Maybe we'll paint your nails, and I'll tell you about the time I decapitated 20 men in 30 seconds."
Dad looked slightly more relaxed. Maybe, it wasn't such a big deal. Maybe, it was just another day at the office. Maybe, the office is just booby-trapped, and there are alien ninjas.
I tried not to cry at the thought of losing my family to this "mad Titan". I most certainly didn't want to cry while they could see. I could wait until I was gone.
As green and black swirled around us, my first tears fell.
I wanted to yank my hand from my Aunt's and run to my father like a defiant child, but I didn't. I watched as my father disappeared from view.
