Upon getting home, which I had to take a bus to do, I called out.

"FRIDAY! I'm home."

"Welcome home, miss Astrid. Mr Stark told me to inform you there's a surprise for you in the freezer you can have after homework. They'll be back at the earliest possible convenience." She said.

"Thank you much, FRIDAY."

"You're welcome, Miss Astrid."

I smiled and sat at the bar and did my homework. It was dead silent, so I asked FRIDAY, "can you put some music on? Maybe something from my playlist?" I asked.

"Sure, miss Astrid."

Depeche Mode began playing.

"Oh, nice!" I muttered, hunching over my papers.

••••••••
Upon finishing my homework, I hopped up from the bar and walked over to the freezer.

"Second Shelf," FRIDAY said.

"Jackpot! Ice cream sandwich." I said happily, settling on the couch.

••••••••
I woke up when something crashed in the kitchen.

"Who's there?!" I called out, grabbing a baton from the cushion.

"I apologise if I scared you." I sighed in relief.

It was just uncle Thor.

"No worries. I should head off to my room anyway." I said, hopping up. I walked over and gave him a hug. "See you in the morning," I said, sticking my tongue out.

He laughed and made one back.

"Sleep well."

"You too." He replied.

I walked to my room and got changed into my pyjamas.

He walked in. "Good night, Astrid." He whispered, tucking me in and pressing a kiss to my temple.

"I love you, uncle."

"I love you too. Sorry I don't visit more often." He whispered.

"It's okay," I mumbled tiredly.

••••••••
I opened my eyes to darkness.

"Shh, child."

I closed my eyes again and went back to sleep.

•••••••
When I woke again, it was late, nearly 2 PM.

"Geez, I cannot believe I slept in this late. I walked out into the living room and sat on the couch.

I chuckled and laid back.

"Hey," Steve said, ruffling my hair.

"Hey! Whatcha doing? I asked.

"I was painting earlier. Figured I'd come out and check on you." He replied.

I smiled and hugged him over my shoulder.

"Love ya." I said, as he squeezed me.

"You wanna update me on some stuff?" Steve asked, settling on the couch beside me.

I nodded fervently.

"Then scoot over."

I moved and turned on the TV.

"So Star Wars?" He asked.

"Nope, Star Wars was created by George Lucas, who took inspiration from Gene Roddenberry's Star Trek. Star Trek comes first."

"Alrighty then, let's go." He said.

••••••••
I slid the lunch dishes into the sink and walked back out to the living room. "So, what'd you think?" I asked.

"Time travel hurts my head," Steve replied groggily.

"Mine too," I said, smiling and sitting beside him.

"You know what doesn't hurt my head?" He asked.

"Hmm?"

"Braiding your hair." He replied.

I beamed and plopped in front of him.

"I think I learned a new one, but I want to see. Tony showed me how to use Youtube." He told me.

I sat still and enjoyed myself as he braided my hair.

We sat for a few minutes in silence before he proudly exclaimed, "All done! What do you think?" He asked.

"It's amazing," I told him. It was a wrap around Dutch braid, and he did amazingly.

"Just wow." I breathed.

He chuckled and hugged me. "I'm glad you like it."

I really did. It was good.

Tony called Steve away, and no one else was there. So when the doorbell rang, I got up. "Hello?"

A man with a cape was there.

"Can I talk to an adult?" He asked sharply.

"Geez, gimme a sec." I closed the door.

"Can I talk to an adult," I mimicked sarcastically, "I almost am an adult!" I said.

I went to my room after getting uncle Thor.

Then there was yelling.

I only picked up bits and pieces, figuring it wasn't any of my business and simply played on my laptop until the front door slammed.
