I heard police sirens, but I thought nothing of it until a girl my age grabbed me and put something in my pocket. When she let go of me, I grabbed what she put in my pocket and pulled it out. It was a gun! The police came up to me and told me to drop the gun, so I did. As much as I told them it was a girl running, they didn't believe me. I was just some hood greaser to them.

"What's your name?" one policeman asked. I thought 'oh great. This is going to help.'

"He asked,'what is your name?'" another cop said.

"My name is Sophie Winston," I say, regretting saying Winston.

"Winston? As in Dallas Winston?" the first one asked.

"Yes, I'm his younger sister," I said. I knew they weren't going to believe me now. They threw me in the car and drove to the station. When we got there, they put me in interrogation room. A 20-ish looking girl came to ask me some questions.

"Hello, Sophie. I am Daniella. I will be asking you some questions about earlier tonight."

"Okay."

"So what happened earlier tonight? Tell me everything."

"I went to the Nightly Double with my brother and some of his friends. I got bored, so I left to take a walk. When I got towards town, I saw a girl my age running from cops. I tried to get out of her way, but she grabbed me up against a wall. She put the gun in my pocket, but when I saw it was actually a gun in my pocket, it was too late. The cops were already there, and I tried to tell them the truth. I tried to tell them it was the girl running down the street, but they didn't believe me. Now I'm here."

"Do you have a number we can call?"

"Umm...I have two actually since the first one might not work."

"Tell me them both then."

"My brother's number is 299-741-9343. That number might not work, but if you do call that number, you have to ask for Dallas. Another number you could call is 299-437-8821. If you call that one, ask for Darrel."

"Thank you, Mrs. Winston."

She walks out of the room to most likely call my brother. I was sure it wasn't going to work since Buck only let's people he knows talk to Dally. She would probably get a hold of Darry or one of the other boys though. After a long while of sitting and staring at a wall, she walked back in and sat down.

"I could not get a hold of your brother, so Darrel will be coming in."

"That's fine. He will probably call my brother about this, but I am begging you to please get me out of this. I know my last name isn't the best or most trustworthy, but I'm not like my brother. I swear. Please help me."

"I'll do whatever I can. You don't necessarily look like a girl that would kill someone, or even act like a murderer."

"They think I KILLED someone!"

"Yes. The reports say you killed Nathan Prince. The parents are on their way to tell us what the suspect looked like since they got a good look at her."

"I don't even know who Nathan Prince is."

"I will do what I can."

She walked out, and yet again, I was staring at a wall bored out of my mind. It was about thirty minutes but felt like a decade before Daniella came in followed by Darry and Dallas. Dally honestly looked scared or maybe nervous. I couldn't get up since I was handcuffed, but I had a want to hug Dally and try to make him feel better.

"Is this your brother?" Daniella asked me.

"Yes."

"I'm going to ask you two to stand outside for a second," Daniella turned to them. They listened and walked out while she sat down, cleared her throat, and started talking. She started,"I am running fingerprints on the gun, and most of the fingerprints are coming up someone else's. Also, the parents description of the suspect doesn't match your appearance. I think you got this."

"Thank you so much! Is there anything I can do to repay you?"

"How old is that Darrel guy?"

"Twenty and single. Would you like me to put in a good word?"

"Please."

"You got it."

She wrote her number on a piece of paper and handed it to me to give to Darry. I threw it in my pocket after getting unhandcuffed. Many people came in talking to Daniella, the boys, or me until they told me I was good to go. We walked out of the room, and I found Daniella. I gave her a hug and whispered something in her ear.

"You have a good chance with Darrel. I saw him eying you multiple times."

"Cool. I guess I might see you later then."

"Totally."

We waved goodbye, and I walked outside. The boys were waiting, and Two-bit was the first to get to me. He pulled me into a hug which surprised me. I enjoyed it for a little until I thought of his girlfriend and got scared.

"Umm...Two-bit?" I say. My voice shaky.
