I get happier when I see him sprinting down the sidewalk carrying an umbrella. He made it to me out of breath and opened the umbrella. He put his arm over my shoulder as we walked under the umbrella.

"I started to think you ditched me," I say.

"Why would I ditch such a pretty girl in the rain?" He smiles and winks at me.

"You're unpredictable. I don't know what you would do."

"I wouldn't ditch a pretty girl like you in rain like this. Now where's my thank you?"

I stopped walking, so he did too. I turned and looked at him for a while before standing on my tip-toes and giving him a kiss on the lips.

"There's your thank you," I say and stepped back onto my heels. He looked shocked, but he started smiling really soon after.

"I loved it," he says as kisses me once more. We got out of the kiss and walked hand-in-hand to the Curtis house. When we walked through the door, Daniella was there with a girl I didn't recognize. She didn't have the looks of Daniella or I, and she was cuddled up to Soda. I was assuming she was the Sandy girl the gang talked about so much. She looked like a clown with so much makeup on, and she looked a lot more like a greaser girl than I did. What made my day twenty times better was when my friend Samantha came through following Steve. Samantha's and my face lit up when we noticed each other. I let go of Two-bit's hand to give her a hug.

"Samantha!" I yelled.

"Sophie! I didn't know you were here!" She said.

"Yeah. These are Dally's and my friends, and... this is my boyfriend Two-bit," I tell her and grab Two's arm. I said 'Two-bit' because I know he doesn't like Keith.

"You have friends?!" She says, messing around. This gets laughs from everyone in the room, especially Two-bit who is almost on the floor crying.

"Oh, shut up," I say laughing, "So, why are you here?"

"I got yelled at for getting in a fight with that Madison girl from school, so I decided to come to Tulsa to find you. I tried just walking around to find you, and I got thrown trash and stuff at me. Then I saw Steve walking up the street. He said hi, and we talked for a while before coming here."

"But dude, what happened to Evie?" Soda asked.

"That bitch two-timed me. I caught some guy walking out of her house with her. They kissed before he left," Steve looked upset and angry at the same time.

"Sorry to hear that Steve," Sandy said. She seemed nice from her appearance and tone. She seemed to have a friendship with either Steve, Evie, or both.

"It's okay because I have a chance with a better girl," he said and looked at Samantha. She smiled and blushed slightly. I looked over at Daniella and Darry while Soda and Steve started talking about girls, and Darry looked happier than i'd ever seen him before. He seemed like he was really enjoying Daniella's company. Seeing them laughing and smiling together just made me smile. I went past Two-bit and walked to my room. Two-bit follows me to my doorway and refuses to let me shut the door.

"Come on. I have to..um..brush my hair," I lie. All I really wanted to do was sit on my bed and read my book.

"You're hair looks beautiful, so you don't have to brush it. Plus, you don't have to shut your door just to brush your hair," He said, matter-of-factly.

"Whatever. Come on. Why do you want to come in here anyway?"

"I wanna hang out with my girlfriend. Is it wrong to want to hang out with my Minnie?"

"I guess not. It's sweet that you always want to be with or around me."

"I just like you that much.(Reader and writer cringe inside) What do you do for kicks in here anyway?"

"Read or draw," I say as I pick up a copy of "Gone With The Wind," and Two-bit honestly looks disgusted.

"You read?! I hate reading!"

"Dude chill. Turn your tone down a few notches. I usually just draw instead of reading, but sometimes I like to read as well."

"Fine...what do you draw?"

"I draw sunsets, people, flowers, or anything you ask for."

"So if I asked you to draw Mickey Mouse, you would draw it for me?"

"I actually already did," I say and reach into my dresser. I grab the sketch book I have been working in, and I rip out the page with Mickey Mouse inside a rainbow colored background. Two-bit looks at it, and his face light up.

"It's incredible! How did you do this?"

"I was watching Mickey with my sketchbook in my lap, and I couldn't think of anything to draw. I decided that it would be a good idea to draw Mickey since he was on TV."

"It's impressive that you can draw so amazing and in detail."

"I used to be in this art club when I was in Middle School where I was taught to draw people mostly. I stopped drawing for a while after being picked on for it, but I got back into it when I moved here."

"What other hobbies do you do?"

"I used to do women's baseball and slight karate back in New York. Dally tried to wrestle me once, and I had him down in under two minutes."

"That's cool. You must have been good then huh?"

"I was okay."

Both Two-bit and I looked over at the clock that read 9:30 pm.

"I'll let you get your beauty sleep even though you don't need it."

"Thanks. Good night Keith."

"Good night Sophie. I love you."

"I love you too."

He kissed me before walking out the door and shutting it behind him. That night, I had a terrible thought that something traumatizing was going to happen sometime that week......
