It was slightly cold outside which caused me to shiver, but I really didn't want to. I knew that Two-bit would react to the shiver, but I couldn't help it. Two-bit noticed my shiver, and I sighed.
"Are you cold? Do you want my jacket?" He asked.
"No thanks. I don't need it," I say. Instead of listening to me, he pulls his jacket off and lays it on my shoulders.
"You need it," he smiles at me. Pony puts his finger down his throat and fake throws up. I lightly put his in a head lock and hold him there. He starts tapping my arm.
"Are you finished?" I ask him.
"Yes, yes. Let me go."
I let him go, and he walks to the other side of Two-bit.
"Why'd you leave me?" I ask playfully.
"You're an abusive human being," he says while rubbing his neck.
"You put it upon yourself. She didn't do anything bad," Two-bit adds in. Pony rolls his eyes and just keeps walking. We walked in straight silence to a bus stop. Pony sits down on the bench, I stand behind the bench, and Two-bit stands in front of the bench. Pony starts rubbing his temples, and both Two-bit and I have the same idea. We both go straight for Pony's forehead. We thought he might have a fever. I pull my hand away, but Two puts his hand on Pony's forehead.
"Are you okay? You're a little hot," Two asked.
"I'll take some aspirin when I get home. Just be a buddy and don't tell Darry."
"Fine. But Darry'll kill me if you are sick and still fight anyway."
Two-bit shrugged, and we all jumped onto the bus. Pony and Two-bit talked amongst themselves, but I just stared out the window. I didn't want the boys to fight tonight. I don't like fighting, and I know that's a weird thing to say for a greaser. Even though I might have to do it, I don't like it. Two-bit turned toward me, but I just kept looking out the window.
"Sophie, are you okay?" He asked. I didn't answer him the first time. I was so caught up in my thoughts that I couldn't,"Sophie?"
"Huh?" I ask and turn toward him.
"Are you okay?" He asked again with a smile.
"Uh, yeah. I'm okay."
He nods, but I could tell he doesn't believe me.
"Sophie, what's wrong?" He asked again relentlessly.
"I don't want you guys to fight at the rumble tonight."
"But why? We can handle them socs."
"I know you can, but I don't want anything to happen to you guys."
Two-bit and Pony stand up to get off the bus, so I follow them. Once we get off the bus, I lock hands with Two-bit, and now he can really tell something is seriously wrong.
"Sophie, seriously, what is your problem? Are you okay? Are you going insane? Do we need to call a doctor? I mean what the hell?"
"I-I-I-" I was honestly surprised by his sudden outburst, but I was more upset than anything. I let go of his hand and sort of looked at the ground. I saw Pony lean into Two-bit's ear out of the corner of my eye, but I thought nothing of it. I heard someone yell a hi to Pony and Two, but I just kept walking. I got a good twenty feet away from them before I felt someone hug me from behind. It was Two-bit
"I'm sorry for my outburst earlier. I didn't mean to say it that loud, but you were squeezing my hand."
"I forgive you," I say and turn around to him. He leans in so I lean in, and we embrace each other in a kiss. I love the kinds of kisses that make you feel like you can never be pulled apart, but could we........
